I have epilepsy, and after talking with my dr. a bit i really dont know what to do.

it is ultimately up to you what you decide to do. if it were me I personally would stay on the meds. Yes there may be higher risk of those birth defects but i would feel that in order to keep me and baby safe the meds would be a necessity, just my opinion. gl with whatever you decide to do.

I was on no meds during my last preg. but my seizures werent as bad, and I had only one at the very end of my preg @ 8months. I have no warning myself but my family often can tell by my behavior before hand. my epilepsy is not well controlled and it makes it very hard to have a normal life. As for my dr. his only advice is that for me there are equal risks and it is my choice on what I do. I really dont know what to do. if I knew I could get preg rt away I would stop taking it, because the med im on cause probs early in the preg and then start taking it if i needed to. But theres just no for sure thing and I have other kids to take care of.
