Blood HCG versus HPT

Just wondering if any of you have experiences with these two forms of testing. I've never taken an HPT and found out I was pregnant that way first. Usually I find out via blood test. This last time I found out at 9dpo via blood draw, but didn't get even the faintest positive on an HPT until 12dpo (and if I had taken that first I wouldn't have known for sure until the next day that it was a BFP). I'm hanging tight around 9dpo right now, thinking I'll start taking some HPTs on Sunday when I'll be around 13 dpo ish. I didn't do an OPK this month so I'm not sure when I ovulated, but I figured I would try that out. I'm getting a blood draw on July 6th if AF hasn't shown by then. We shall see!

Blood tests are obviously much more sensitive than a HPT. Not even half of women who are pregnant get BFPs at raises to a little over half at 14DPO and goes up from there. With a blood test, they are looking for trace amounts so much more accurate. If you go to, they have percentages. Good Luck!
