Although I cannot offer any advice on this subject, thank you for posting this article, it was so informative and today, I am going out to purchase some Vit B6. I do not have a short LP but it seems to do a lot more than that anyways with regulating horomones plus it is so inexpensive. I would say go for it...I am!
Good luck.

Vitamin B6
Toxicity
The ingestion of megadoses (2 to 6 g/day for 2 to 40 mo) of pyridoxine, mistakenly taken for premenstrual tension, may cause progressive sensory ataxia and profound lower limb impairment of position and vibration sense. Senses of touch, temperature, and pain are less affected. The motor and central nervous systems are unimpaired. Recovery is slow and, in some patients, is only partial after pyridoxine ingestion is stopped.\
Be very careful when taking B6. You might also want to look into Vitex (Chasteberry Tree) or Natural Progestrones (Wild Yam, etc). These are also rememdies for short LPs that don't have any toxicity. I used Wild Yam cream & green tea and got a big BFP with a 10 day LP.
Good Luck!!

Wild Yam is derived from the Mexican Wild Yam plant. It is applied as a cream or taken as a pill. Since it's natural, it doesn't pack the punch that B-6 would, but it's an all natural progestrone. You can get it at GNC or on www.mothernature.com. I applied it after O and still use it. There are mixed studies on if the cream actually enters that system as quickly as vitamins, but I think it helped me. I felt very energetic and had very little PMS symptoms. Some people won't see results for 3-4 months. The only thing is you don't want to use it during AF and before O. It can actually prevent O.
Vitex (Chasteberry Tree) is an herb that regulates the pituitary (spelling?) gland. Since your pit. gland regulates your hormones, Vitex can jump start it. I took it my entire cylce and stopped after I got a BFP. Some people don't feel very well when they take it, but I didn't feel any difference.
Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is also a good fertility herb. I drank a cup a day from O until BFP. It tones and strengthens the uterus and lining. I've just discovered that it works well with Red Clover. I didn't use Red Clover, but there is plenty of research.
Here's a website to visit: http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/pregnancy/herbs.htm. I would do A LOT of research before taking any herbs. I am not a "natural" person. I go for the Rx ALL the time. I just wanted to be a bit different for TTC and it has worked! I also told my OB/GYN what I was taking. She felt that it wouldn't make a difference since these rememdies weren't prescribed. I feel they did help. I'm only 5 weeks along and sick as a dog. My doctor was suprised how sick I was and how early I got a BFP. She said that everything was going very well if I was having those symptoms already.
Maybe they just helped me psychologically, but anyway, it worked for me.
Good Luck! and do LOTS OF RESEARCH!!!

I have seen recommendations of 50-100 mg/day of B6 for Luteal phase/PMS/and morningsickness. I wouldn't worry about taking this dose since it is way less than the 2-6 g/day that *could* become toxic. 100 mg is 1/20th of 2g. Keep in mind that most vitamins can be toxic in huge doses, so just don't go overboard on any of them. Doctors actually prescribe a combination of 50-100 mg B6 and something else for people with bad morning sickness, so this dosage should not be a problem. As always, check with your doc before taking extra vitamins or herbs if you do have any concerns.
