Hi all,

I am new to this board and I just have a few questions and if anyone has any insight I would love to hear any and all opinions, concerns, ideas :)

First of all, i had a MC in October and went through a D&C.

Yay for a proactive dr! It was also suggested to me to go on bcp if we weren't ttc either.

Just be sure to get the progesterone tested on 7dpo for accurate results. Some drs (esp gp's) will say cd 21, which is fine & dandy if you have a *normal* 28 day cycle with O on cd14, but most gals here have a pretty wide range of O.

Good luck!

Update:

I saw my Dr. yesterday and she is sending me to get my progesterone levels checked.

I think the spotting sounds normal. I have spotting that is brown or pink in color prior to AF comes. You should not count the brown spotting as AF, only the first day of red flow that you need to wear a tampon or pad.

I think it helps to know when you O'd. I temp and do OPK's to time when I O. I know there are a lot of girls who don't want to temp but do just the OPK's to give them a better idea of when they O. It may be helpful to try them out. Charting took me about a month to really feel like I knew what I was doing. I know girls who say once they already have a child it's harder to temp if your getting up in the middle of the night etc. Hope this helps.

No worries :) Before we started ttc I didn't know about any of this stuff! Now I know more than I ever expected to know about our cycles ;) Might as well pass the info along instead of it collecting dust in my head!

Thanks, pranamomma! I had my doubts, but not surprised. I'd rather hear it from the doctor's mouth, but I am not seeing her until the end of February. Oh well. I'm using OPKs so hopefully they help me pin down when in my cycle I should O. One can only hope!

Here's a link about different types of spotting.

Dawn, let us know how it goes :)

Hopes4little1, the info from your nurse is incorrect. I've experienced spotting & wonky cycles & saw an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) & cd 1 is the first day of red, not the brown spotting. There's fertility b/w that is done specifically on cd 3 & if you did it on the 3rd day of spotting your b/w would be inaccurate.

I didn't get a chance to call yesterday because I was at work and usually it's the nurse who has to call me back.

Did you find out about the low progesterone? I'm interested to know since I've been having a lot of spotting too. I don't have an appointment though until the end of this cycle (end of February). I hope you get some answers and get your BFP soon.
