I'm wondering that too. I"m 3 days late and I'm going on vacation to the OUter Banks next week. I have 3 tanning appointments left. Can I use them?????????
Personally, I wouldn't tan. A few days in the sun while on vacation is one thing, but to sit in a tanning booth and baking is another. I did some reading where they did studies that showed the ultraviolet rays in tanning booths break down folic acid. We all know folic acid is critical to the development of the baby...so you probably wouldn't want to intentionally break that down. I tanned, only once a week, up until I ovulated then stopped completely.
I think that if you know that you are pg you shouldn't tan in a tanning booth. I know that all the tanning salons by us won't let you tan if you are pg. I think that sitting out in the sun would be fine just remember to wear your sunscreen because it seems for some reason you attract a lot more sun when you are pg, don't ask me why, but when my sister and I were in FL this March she was 6 months pg, and she normally doesn't tan or burn at all, ouch big time burn. Just my two sense, enjoy your vacation!
I wouldn't suggest using a tanning bed while pg, but my SIL who just had a baby 2 weeks ago tanned while she was pg. Everything turned out great for her, but you just never know what could happen I think.
