CAUTION, detailed...? about possible MC?

Hi, I last posted here in August. I was feeling down, about everything. Here's the scoop now.....

I started my PD a week late today. My breasts have been sore for about a week now. My instincts tell me I'm 99% sure I WAS pregnant. You just know these things when you've been PG before. I was steam cleaning the carpet the last couple of days. I was having a crampy feeling in my back, just like the last time I MC'd. I stopped what I was doing of course, and laid down. When I woke up at 5:00am this morning, I had the feeling I had started my PD; and sure enough. My breasts are no longer sore and I passed something this morning that looked like a blood clot, about 1/2", reddish-gray in color. I tried to take a closer look, but it disappeared to the bottom of the toilet. I guess I'll never know for sure, since I didn't take a pregnancy test. But I know my body, and it tells me I WAS PG.

Should I go to my GYN to be checked out? I feel OK physically. I'm not bleeding heavily.

Any opinions are welcome.

Never giving up, Melissa

FYI: I would have been 5-6 weeks.

I'm so sorry Melissa. I understand. I was 5.5 weeks when I m/c last month. I was feeling symptoms and 7 days late for AF when I started bleeding (negative hpt up til then). After the bleeding stopped, I still felt the symptoms so I took another hpt (about 5 days later). It was positive. Went to doc and got a HcG level and it was low. Took another 48 hours later and it was decreasing so they told me I had m/c.

Now, if I wouldn't have taken the hpt test after what I though was AF I would have never officially known (but I'm with you, your body knows). I think this happens to a lot of women and they just assume their period was late. So, as far as the doctor goes, I would call and see what they want you to do. Usually m/c this early take care of it's self. I'm so sorry.

Hello Melissa,

I am so sorry if this is what you are going through... it's such a difficult thing.

I WOULD go to the dr's, explaing your situation and asking for a quant level to be drawn. You may be feeling well, but you still want to know if this is what is happening to you. Most dr's won't do anything for you (fertility-wise - like running all the tests to see why you are mc'ing) until you've had 3 or more m/c's.

So, since you've had one, and if this is your second, you and your dr's would really want to know this info. Plus, if you haven't passed all of the baby, then then they may need to check you to see if you need a D&C done.

Last month was my 3rd m/c... then next time I am pg... they are beginning a battery of tests on me. You definitely want to know if you are... :-(
