Hello,
I am not sure about the CBEFM. I have read that most women O between CD14 and CD25. It all depends on the length of your cycle. I hope that you get your High soon..

I was just logging on here this a.m. to post about the same thing. I am not taking Clomid (yet) but have had some longish, sometimes irregular cycles and thought I'd try the CBEFM. I am also using my friend's, and reset it as well. This is my 2nd cycle using it.

My cycles are *usually* around 30-35 days. My first cycle trying it, it asked me to start testing on CD 7, where I got my first "low" reading. It stayed "low" until CD 12, when I got my first "high". I had three days of "high" and got a "peak" on CD 15 and 16. This was really surprising to me, since my cycles are usually longer than average and the earliest I've seen a + OPK is CD 18. Sure enough, on CD 15 I tried an OPK (digital) and it was also positive. That cycle I wound up getting my period early (for me) and had the first 28/29 day cycle I can remember in years. I think I DID ovulate earlier than expected, and I think the CBEFM is accurate, actually.

This cycle, I'm on CD 13, just tested, and still "low". While its hard not to get frustrated, I'm trying to remind myself that last month was probably a fluke and based on my history, these low readings are not surprising. It is disappointing, though.

One thing I want to say is that I've heard that for the first cycle, the monitor doesn't "know" you yet, whatever that means. However, I think that refers to when it asks you to start testing. This cycle, it didn't ask me to test until CD 8. The readings, I think, are accurate.

GL!!!!

That's awesome you got your cycle down to 28 last time! My cycles are usually 50-60days long. I've already done Clomid twice and nothing. So Im not really holding out much hope to O this cycle either...

Yea I think I read most women get highs for a few days then get the peak for a couple days then O. So I guess if we O later then we wont get a high reading until later.

Yeah, my cycle last month was definitely short for me, but I think it was a fluke...my low reading today makes me think that this cycle will definitely be longer than 28 days, perhaps closer to my usual 32ish days.

I don't know if the monitor is more accurate than the OPKs. I think if anything it gives you more advanced warning, if that makes sense. Whereas the OPKs give you the day(s) of your LH surge, the monitor can also detect possible fertile days BEFORE the LH surge. When I used OPKs with the monitor last month, I got positive readings the same day I the first peak reading on the monitor, but the OPKs I've used were also Clear Blue Easy, so I'm not surprised the results seemed to coincide.

As for previous cycles, I think that the OPKs have worked for me in the past. I had a lot of headaches with the ones with the two lines, but once I switched to the digital ones (more expensive but so worth it to me) I can clearly tell the positives from the negatives. This month I'm not temping, but when I have in the past, the temps seemed to indicate that I was indeed O'ing when the OPKs predicted I would.

GL and let me know if you have any questions!!! Keep me posted on your monitor readings!
