I have many hopeful signs of pregnancy, but my cervix seems quite LOW as I'm approaching AF. Is this a sign for pregnancy or AF??? I've read some different things and am confused.
OK... I found out the answer to your question on Parent's Place. Here is an excerpt...
"As you may know, during ovulation, the cervix rises a bit, progressing from low, closed and firm before ovulation to higher, open and soft around ovulation. It returns to its pre-ovulatory status within a few days.
During pregnancy -- under the influence of progesterone and within a week of the missed period -- the cervix softens and begins to drop a bit.
By five to six weeks from the last period, the neck of the cervix becomes soft and can almost feel as if it were disconnected from the uterus."
Hope this helps! My deduction would be that the cervix rises (opens before AF).
Thanks Christine. I am waiting for AFNW, which I think is coming today or tomorrow. Today is CD29 and 14dpo (I am usually on a 28-29 day cycle). I had a BFN today (I caved in an tested due to very sore bbs, VERY moody this cycle, had some cramping last week, 7-9dpo, and have felt very dizzy for about 10 days.) I am now feeling some mild cramping so I think AF coming very soon. I checked my cervix and I could almost not feel it because it was so high and I wasn't sure if this was normal.
If you are near af and your cervix is really high then it should mean af is coming soon. It usually drops really low right before it starts...like the day of or day before, and will be be softer again like pre-O. As far as a pregnant cervix. The cervix softens over time and rises again, but that doesn't usually happen until like 6-8 wks pregnant....even drs cannot tell if you are pregnant by looking at your cervix before then. After 6 wks or so, they can look and tell because it turns a purplish color when pregnant. HTH.

Any advise is really appreciated.
