cervix is off-kilter?

We just moved to a new area so yesterday I went for my pap at a new doc and to talk about fertility stuff. I explained my crazy, weird cycles and she confirmed what I thought, that I have a luteal phase defect. She didn't seem at all concerned that we'd only been trying since June. Since I've had this LP problem when TTC my son three years ago, since I'd had a m/c back then, since it looks like I may have had another back in March and since everything's all screwed up and since I'm OLD now (I'm 28! Yikes!) She said that she doesn't see any point in making me wait a year to get started on investigating my fertility. She said another thing that I'd read, that fertility starts to be affected after 27. So she scheduled a consult for the end of the month and said that it should be fairly easy to fix my issue with clomid. (Ok, I'm a little nervous about clomid either messing up my body or about twins ...)

Anyway, after my pap she said, "Has anyone ever told you that your cervix is in a weird place?" Um no. I vaguely remember being told (four years ago when I was pg with my son) that my uterus was tilted but that it might self-correct after my pregnancy. After that I never thought about it again. I asked if the cervix being in a weird place would affect my fertility and she said, "not really."

So now I wonder what that actually means and how I can try to help nature a long. Like different positions or something? Anyone have a clue?

i dont know a lot about tilted U, but i know that i have seen it mentioned quite a bit on the boards, so it does not mean you cant get PG ( i see it on my baby board, obviously they had a baby, LOL)

what is your LP defect? mine is that it is short, i take extra B6 (100 mg a day), it helps.

old at 28? lol get a new doctor. i am 37, and yes, they do more U/S when you are PG, but they dontcall me old , i am "advance4d maternal age" (over 35) you are no where near it, dont worry. you are probably plenty fertile ;-)

i dont w3ant to say your Doc is not good, but you have only been trying for afew months. have you tried charting? you dont necessarily need intervention and clomid YET. try charting and having well timed intercourse a month or two first.

again, i dont know how a tilted uterus works, and if implantation is difficult with it, so certainly listen to your doc. but look into it, if you think that clomid is not for you. it was my impression that clomid is for those who do not ovulate - is that your issue??

good luck!!!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised that she mentioned my age. She wasn't so much calling me old, just that I was getting oldER and it could become an issue at this point. I think given my previous medical history with random stuff (bladder tumors, miscarriage, lp defect, threatened m/c with my son, etc) she just felt like if we were in a good place and wanted to kickstart things, she was all for it. She wasn't throwing clomid at me or anything, just saying it could be an easy fix with the clomid. You're right on it helping for those who don't ovulate. But I've also read about it lengthening cycles or helping a too short LP (that's what mine is too.)

I charted when I was TTC my son after my m/c. I've been checking CP, CM and using OPKs and trying to BD every two or three days pretty much the entire cycle except when AF is here. I know it hasn't been that long, but it will definitely be nice to go to the consult and have them do the bloodwork, see what my body is doing, do the ultrasound (oh yeah and I have really bad cysts starting from O time until AF.)

I'm hoping that I just get pg this month and can skip the consult and intervention altogether. BUT I sort of feel like if I have the LP defect and the cysts, why wait forever just to do the intervention later on? Might as well at least find out for sure what's going on with my body and then sort of decide from there. I'm not sure yet how I feel about the clomid, still need to do some research and thinking on that one, but I wouldn't mind doing something like progesterone shots or something.
