Changes to BB's after O

Hi all. I am new here and have recently decided to start TTC and I have sooooo many questions but I will start with just one for now. After many years on the pill and after 6 years of marriage I just went off the pill on 9/7. I ovulated on 9/23 (I took a test). DH and I are not really "trying this month, although I guess it could have happened. The day after O my nipples hurt so badly I couldn't stand to not wear a bra because a shirt rubbing against them was too painful. This lasted a few days and then went away. Is this an occurence that happens and has anyone else had this? Oh, one other thing is that those little bumps called Montgomer's tubercles flared up like I have never seen and they are still there. AF is supposed to come next week but I am wishfully hoping she doesn't. Any thoughts please?

Hi Heather,

The changes could just be O. My bb's get very sore (sometimes the nipples, sometimes the whole breast) for a few days after O and then subside. They get very full too, which lasts up until AF. It can differ from month to month, too. So although you may actually be pg, don't use your bb's as the only measure. They are not a very good one, since PMS and pg do pretty much the same thing to them. If, on the other hand, you start getting all these blue veins on them and the aereoloas change a lot (bigger, darker), that is often a sign.

good luck to you!

Thanks for the information! I just went off BCP and I cannot even remember what my body did before that. I know that my BB's never did anything before AF. I don't have much so... :) The only signs I get that AF is coming are cramps and headaches. I think I am just a bit antsy, like everyone else, now that we have decided to start trying! I have also read that many woman have no signs until after 4 weeks or so, so lets hope that is me!
