I'm new to this board (though I have been lurking a LOT lately) and thought I'd share an important breakthrough.

You see I've always wanted to verify my Cervix position but always had a hard time. Most of the time I felt it was too high or ''out of reach'' and I didn't understand how to feel if it was ''hard'' or ''soft'', or ''open'' or closed.

Then I found this GREAT web site :

CAUTION! The pictures are that of a woman's cervix during a complete menstrual cycle. It may be a little disconcerting at first but they are truly the best ones I have ever seen. Usually you can find pics of a ''sick'' cervix (with, for example,

Thanks for that, very informative. Is there any resources that explain how to tell with your finger that the cervix is "open"? I can't seem to figure that part out, though I can tell if it's low/high and soft/hard.

Thank you!!! I think I am one of those people that checks too far sometimes lol. Another question is there any danger touching this? I mean I'm sure it's sensitive, but daily examining, could it irritate it?

I wondered the same thing at first!

But don't worry. As long as your hands are clean I there is no problem. Think about all else that it goes through while TTC... all the baby dancing can be MUCH more ''irritating'' than anything we might do with our fingers. I find the best time is after I shower just before going to bed (actually, in bed right before going to sleep or BDing!)

The only poeple that definitely should not be poking around in there without good cause would be those advanced in pg and have had a history of miscariage (eveb then, it's not a great risk) or women with an STD or a medical condition such as cervical cancer.
