What exactly does Clomid do? I know it is supposed to induce O, right? But what if you already know you O, then how is it helpful? Does it cause you to release more eggs? My GYN told me that when they monitor women during ovulation they find there is activity from both ovaries. Is that true?

I've heard that only fraternal twins are genetic (releasing more than 1 egg at a time)

Yes, only fraternal twins are genetic, or passed down. identical twins are caused by a random event.

For people like you or me who O on our own every month, the purpose of clomid is to get the ovaries to produce more than one mature egg that will be released during a single cycle
