Clomid question

Just wondering what kind of success rate you guys have had on Clomid? Did your doctor prescribe it pretty easily or did they wait til you were TTC for a certain amount of time?
I've been off BCP since July and 2/3 of my cycles have been over 40 days, with O at CD29 at 35. I'm hoping I can call my doc and have her prescribe me Clomid fairly easily, but am afraid she might say I havent been off BCP long enough to show whether I can be regular on my own or not.
ANy thoughts? Thanks!

I have been off bc since April and I have been having very irregular cycles. (Currently on cd 73). When I went to my doctor in after three months, she told me it was too soon to be concerned. I had a follow up appt and told her what's going on. She is having me get my hormone levels tested, but didn't seem too worried. We have a follow-up appt. to discuss the results next month, which will be 8 months off bc. If I don't O by then, I will ask to have my period induced. And I am not sure about when I would turn to clomid...
I would say give yourself another couple months to see if your cycles regulate on your own. My cycles seem to be getting wackier as time goes on, not more regular, but yours may even out. Are you tracking your temps? Do you know if you are Oing? If you are, then you can get pg even with a longer or irregular cycle. I just don't appear to Oing at all. But I am trying to wait on the whole idea of clomid. I just want my body to do thing on its own. I am not sure if doctors prescribe clomid after just a few months off the pill or not, I think it would have to do a lot if you were Oing or not. Good luck.
Thanks for the responses!
I do
I took my first pill of Clomid last night.
I'm glad you asked this question!
Thanks for responding! We are TTC #1, we just recently decided to start trying and I've only been off BCP since July, so I'm thinking the doc will say I havent given it enough time for my body to attempt to regulate itself. I have my annual in Jan and am hoping to get at least one more cycle in before then. But we'll see.
I was just curious if Clomid would make me O closer to 12-16 days instead of what I have been ovulating at currently. Actually I'm not even sure I ovulated this month yet. Would you mind giving your opinions?
If I take out CD 23 and 24 since I was a little sick, then the system sets an O date on CD 29.. however I usually get AF symptoms by 10dpo
