A "cold" question...
| Thu, 08-14-2003 - 4:23pm |
I have a question. I was wondering if a man is exposed to cold (ie: swimming in cold water)does the cold make him produce more sperm? A friend told me that my DH should try to use an ice pack or swim in cold water to help us with TTC. (It seemed a little odd to me...but we are willing to try anything!) He said that he and his wife had been TTC for years and he went swimming in a cold lake and 2 weeks later his wife was PG. Sorry if this is a silly/stupid question, but do any of you have any idea about this?
Thanks in advance!

But I'm really interested to know the answer to this too!! I'm going to see what I can find online. I hope someone else knows for sure though.

That’s an interesting question! I haven’t heard anything about if it could be true. I know that heat does kill sperm. Biology 101 says that it takes a man 70 days to make the swimmers. It could be that it helped, or that they got lucky. The other thought I have is that it might make a man ejaculate more sperm. Who knows? It might be worth a try.
