Confused & have questions

Hi,

Quick background - I'm 28 and DH is 33 and we're in cycle 10 right now and I've become a bit hopeless and starting to think we're going to need some help. My ob/gyn thinks everything is fine and wants me to wait another few months before doing anything.

The thing is I want to make an appt with a specialist for Jan so if and when I have to go, I don't have to wait months for an appointment. I've been looking at specialists and getting confused with all the specialties out there - I've seen infertility specialists, reproductive enodcrinlogists, reproductive specialists, etc on my insurance list.

What kind of specialist should I be looking for? Does it matter?
Oh - I had pre-conception hormone screen done and though some stuff was borderline, it was overall ok. And DH is going for SA in 2 weeks. We have had no other testing.

Thanks!

I'm sorry I can't really answer your question but what is a pre-conception hormone screen? What can it tell you??? Just curious because I am now on cycle #9 for my 3rd child... I know something is

Hi!

You are doing the smart thing being proactive.....especially if some of your tests were borderline.

Hi,

The hormone screen I mentioned is just bloodwork. It is usually the first batch of tests they run for fertility screening. It measures various hormone levels involved in conceiving (FSH, LH, progesterone, etc).

Great. I'll look up reproductive endocrinologists that are associated with fertility centers.

Thanks!!

I dont have a lot of answers, but i just wanted to ask - i looked at your chart and i didn't see any CM notated - do you think you hve fertile mucus? that could be a problem. Diet can help, products like preseed seem to help some. just some thoughts!!

GL!!
