confused by LH blood test results

Hi ladies,
So I've been TTC for the past 3 months, and so far no luck. My AF has been going weirder and weirder, last cycle was 46 days and ended with a very light not even 2 day long AF. I saw my ob/gyn this Monday (11/28) and after he determined that I didn't ovulate at all this past cycle (hence the light short AF) he had me do some blood work. I just got the results and here they are:
LSH: 11.8
LH: 66.2
Prolactin: 7.9
So, the LSH and Prolactin are within norm, but what about the LH? It's pretty high, and now I'm not sure: is it because it was my LH surge day, or is it just abnormally elevated and that's what's causing my irregular cycles?
I've been googling it for a few hours now and basically it seems like I should be worried if both LH and FSH were high, am I correct? This is so stressful. I happened to BD a day before my bloodwork and a day after, so if it was a LH surge I might have a shot at pregnancy. But if this is just an indicator of something being wrong with my body, then I shouldn't bother BDing.
I'd appreciate any input...

Which cycle day did you have the bloodwork drawn?
Generally, the bloodwork you had done is taken on cycle day 3 (during the menstrual cycle part). I'm not sure if this would affect the prolactin or fsh #'s, but it might explain the higher lh #'s. I can't remember what my results were so I'm not too much help, but if you say that the lh is high, maybe you are gearing up to O now? Do you use opk's?
I'm not sure what pcp stands for, but I know that my gp receives copies of b/w ordered by my RE & actually told me results by chance before I saw the RE. Perhaps your "pcp" can explain the results even though they didn't order it. KUP :)
i think my obgyn had me do the test now instead of waiting for next cycle, because we had no way of knowing when it would be... Normal LH level for mid-cycle are 12-75, which is why I think maybe that was my surge. Oh God, may that have been my surge! I never even understood how a cycle works, until 2 months ago, and now I'm obsessed with it. :)
Lol -I never expected know so much about cycles too! *sigh* oh how nice it would be to be fertile & clueless!!
You're right about high #s correlating to pcos, but I think the b/w would need to be taken on cd3 to compare. I think if lh to fsh is 2:1 or 3:1 it's a problem? Don't quote me on those numbers -I'm just relying on my bad memory!!
thank you pranamomma - you gave me hope :)
Lex - I believe in PCOS both LH and FSH would be elevated... They also checked my thyroid and that was fine.
I've been having some ovary pain today (6 days after the possible 'surge') and lower back pain, which doesn't make sense after ovulation, but I guess with my body's crazy ways everything's possible.
So there's actually hope - if that was indeed a surge - I BD the next night! This will be stressful
Oh also - I took my temperature this morning and it was 98.7 - I've never seen it this high (I'm usually about 96.8) so I'm suspecting I did it wrong - maybe I was too warm under the blanket or moved too much looking for my thermometer... but what if not? What if it's high because I ovulated? This is going to kill me lol.
