Confusing Cycles!!

Hi all!

A little confused with my AF & cycles here. I went off BCP after 2.5 yrs in mid-May. Then got my AF on July 10th. Now it is 14thAug and still no AF. 5-6 days ago, I had this weird sensation(cramping etc) like I usually do when I am about to get my AF, but no sign yet. My cycles before BCP and on it used to be around 26-27 days.

I don't think I am pregnant for the lack of ANY symptoms at all. However, we BD'd a few times around my "guesstimated" O time(for a 27 day cycle), as I hadn't started charting yet. Also, I don't feel the O-time cramps or anything, could this be due to prolonged BCP use.

I guess my questions are, should I get a test to check it out or wait patiently for my next AF??? From general exp. hwo long is it before cycles become regular?? Also, I hope there is still a chance to get PG even though ones cycles are not regular yet....is that possible??

Thank you very much in advance.......I am truly confused about my body right now!!

Yes, even if your cycles arent regular you can get pregnant. It took me 4-5 months to get regular. Its not uncommon at all for it to be up tp a year before it all gets out of your system. You can test if you want to give you peace of mind, but know that nothng you are explaining seems unusual for someone who hasnt been off the pill for very long. Good luck and I hope you get a BFP!

Thanks Oli! Do you think this would be a good time to test, meaning have I waited long enough? Any recommmendations on which test kit to use will also be helpful!

Thanks to you all

There is no set time for how long it takes BCP to get out of your system. It is possible that you could be preggo. You could test with Early First Response or another brand like that. I didn’t have regular cycles for about 2 years post BC. That was more likely due to my family history. I talked with my mother about it, and she said that she didn’t get regular until around age 23. I turned 23 a few months ago, and I these last few months have been really regular. Just something I found interesting. Hope this helps.
