Connie and others: "O" pain, what is it?

I have always thought that "O" pain was the actual release of the eggie. I read an earlier post by Connie today talking about Tara's appt. and the Dr. said she actually "O"d 2 days before she said she even had "O" pain. So , what's up with that?? If it's not actually the egg coming out, what is it?? I've always had very distinct "O" pain in most of my cycles, but for the last 2 cycles, I have not been able to feel "O" like I normally do. It has me a little concerned. Any insight on this ??

I know I should've posted this earlier today, but maybe someone will see this tonight or this weekend. Hope everybody has a good one!!!

Pain associated with O is actually the rupture of the cyst of ovulation which forms on which ever ovary you ovulate from in any given month. Pain prior to O is probably the formation of the cyst, and pain after O could possibly be due to free fluid and blood in the pelvic cavity after the rupture of the cyst, or not related to O at all.

I'm glad you posted this, Lisa, bc I was wondering about that, too. That is a really great answer to a really great question, and I believe I read something about it before that agreed with that explanation. I haven't been feeling 'O' lately, either, but I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it is a pretty random thing. How have you been? I haven't been seeing many posts from you(but then I have been on less frequently myself-my computer has been giving me fits). My total guess is that you have not yet ovulated, simply bc your temp jump wasn't that high. But then again, I am totally guessing, and I wouldn't ever trust temps only. Keep up that bd girl!!

Hey Leanne,

Long time no hear from. I posted to you about a month ago ( around mid-Aug ) when I saw you had posted congratulation wishes to the BFPs, but I don't think you saw it. So good to hear from you. I've been around, I don't post very much in the folders anymore cause I would not get very many responses, sometimes none, sometimes maybe just one. I went through a spell where I would stay on the computer for hours posting to as many people as I could and especially those that had no responses, even if I did not know the answer at least it would be "bumped", in hopes that maybe I would get more responses, but that did not really help either, so I just kinda stopped and post to people I know or things I feel I can offer some good info on. I do however post quite regularly in the "SOS- Sisters of Support" Thread most everyday , and at times, I have included devotionals for the day. There seems to be so many new people from when I started posting back in May. I know several have graduated but I'm not sure what happened to everybody else, but like I said, good to hear from you. GL to you and hope you get your BFP real soon.

PS. Just entered my temp for today and FF gave me my coverline 97.7 and "O" date and says I'm 3 DPO. I thought that is what it would be but I just was not sure with my temps being the way they are. Wow, look at the perfectly timed BDing if FF is right !!!!

"Bumping" mainly so Leanne can see response and to see if there are any other thoughts mainly from Tara and Connie, who were talking about this in the 1st place. Thanks!!!
