Pretty new here and I need some advice. I have just barely started TTC and I am still new to this. But when me and my partner have sex do I have to have a orgasm in oder to become pregnant??? Sorry for such a dumb question. But my ovulation days was this past Sunday - wednesday and we had sex all these days. But not on one of the days I had a orgasm. So is it still possible to become pregnant

No. You do not need to orgasm. It's nice if you do but it has zero effect on whether or not you conceive. Which is good for us because I NEVER orgasm!!! :(

Hi there. Absolutly you can become pregnant!! The woman's orgasm has NOTHING to do with getting pg. I NEVER orgasm "during the act of sex" only four play so NO is your answer, it's all up to the guy. How do you know for sure you hit ov (ovulation) this past week? Are you tracking it or using a kit or monitor? Are you a regular 28 day cycle or longer or totally irregular?

If you knew you ov this past week and you had sex, it's a very good chance something might of happened (keeping my fingers crossed for you.)

My hubby and I are ttc #1 just this cycle as well but been doing tos and tons of reading on the internet about ov and periods and pregnancy all together to better understand my body. I bought a fertility monitor to give me 5 days prior notice of ov and this is my first month using it and I just came off my period so I am only cd (cycle day) 7 right now. I have a 32-34 day cycle each month so I should ov around the cd 18-21 (Sept. 11-13) we'll see, I'm having periods each month but do not think I am ov so that is why I bought this monitor to tell me each month if I am and if not, I will start the fertility drug Clomid to force me to ov.

Good luck to you and let us know what happens!!

Baby dust to you...

Thanks Julie for that advice. Best of luck to you too. I got this ovulation chart from havingababy.net. After going threw over 30sites this one was the most accurate to me. I figure that I would at least try it on my own for 3months and if nothing I will try buying the kit. I usually know when I ovulate it just the fact of timing it. Well Since yesterday I have been having mild cramps. But there not in my lower body there more like in my stomach area. I don't know if that means anything but my period is not for another 2 weeks. So I am praying that I am pregnant. But I don't want to take a test or anything till I miss my montly. So I am crossing my finger too. Thanks so much for replying to me.

I agree that you don't have to orgasm....but sometimes it can help a little. When you orgasm, your cervix does this dipping thing...and well I actually seen a program once that had a video of the cervix during an orgasm, and sometimes it can help a little, but no gaurantee. You should do a little reading about it one the net...some do say it increased your chances. If you think it could help...not that we all don't want to LOL...I have read that orgasm even after will help. So if you usually get it during foreplay...just stimulate the same afterwards. Thats just my tid bits on it...

I read that thing about the cervix "sipping up sperm" when a woman orgasms too, so I think it might help, I try to orgasm after we BD to help it along.

ALSO, I think you secrete the good CM when you orgasm - anyone know if this is true? 'cos I noticed that if I orgasm without sex at a time of my cycle when I wouldn't normally get the stringy CM, I get it then. (How embarrasing!) Anyone else noticed this? If so it might help the sperm survive longer in there?
