You should always pee at the same time every single day with an OPK otherwise they can be quite faulty. I always peed at 4pm everyday. Diluted urine can also effect your test so during that time when I was testing, I made sure to hold it for at least 4 hours and drink a minimum during that time. Also, it's best to find out what CD you should start testing on in relation to the length of your cycle. That way you don't miss it. I high soft CP is opitimal so if you're not getting the positive OPK, just keep BDing and if there is a need for it next month, make adjustments to your testing time. A good rule of thumb is to never test first thing in the morning or right before bed. Try and pick a middle of the road time and stick with it like clockwork each day. Good Luck!

What type of test are you using? I mean what brand? CD? Maybe you are gearing up to see the positive in the next day or so. Also, you may want to test. I say test in the mornig and then if it is positive in the afternoon as well, that will confirm your surge.

I agree with everything Tammy said. You should pick a time in the middle of the day and stick with it. You should also hold your urine for at least 3 to 4 hours while drinking as little as possible to make sure your urine is concentrated enough.

Yes make sure you take the test at the same time every day! Or if you want, you can even take one in the morning and one at night (every 12 hours) if you feel as though you are going to miss your LH surge.

How long have you felt these symptoms? You may see a positive at some point within the next few days.

LH, the hormone OPKs measure, doesn't metabolize into urine until the morning, so it won't show up in your urine until later.

It varies from woman to woman. There's no way of really knowing unless you make sure to mark all the details down in a chart each month and you should start to see a pattern. For me, I had the high soft CP for less than a day, however, my surge was about 3 days. Some months I would have the optimal CM, others, not so much so I started using preseed during the end which helped because second cycle using it, I was pregnant. You could absolutely have a high soft open cervix for a couple of days but only you'll be able to figure out your pattern each month. My guess though would be typically, no longer than 48 hours at most.
