Do "O" pains come "before" O, or during?

I am on cycle day 12 now.

Yesterday I had mild shooting pains in my bb's, and mild cramping on my lower right side. I also have been a little PMS'y since yesterday, too.

The bb pains are gone today and so is the lower cramping.

This may sound dumb, but are these O signs?? I didnt have any ewcm (which i always used to have).

Do "O" pains come "before" O, or during?????

We Bd'd twice yesterday, so we are good in that department. My temps dont really look like I Ovulated compared to other charts I have looked at on FF.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

Thanks for reading all questions!!

HI,

I had the same question, yesterday I had those same lower right pain/cramps. The thing is, I think it might be too early for O. (Unless "O" pains happen BEFORE O, like EWCM). I never really have abundant EWCM, just clear and wet or creamy.

If I count from my first day of "flow", I am on cd11 now (o pains on cd10), but I spotted the tiniest bit three days BEFORE my flow - meaning, if I count from the spotting, today is cd14, and the pains would have been cd13, closer to o-time...

Alas, my DH and I BD'd Thursday, Saturday AM, and Sunday night. So, if I have ok CM, they should have made it 24 hours at least, and been there for the O pains. We'll try tonight, too...better safe than sorry :)

Any comments and thoughts, suggestions appreciated!

You and I are almost exactly on the same cycle here! I have the same CM, too.

Yes, I hope someone else can post and give us their expertise!!

Thanks for responding!

I've heard that the pains could also be the egg making it's way through your fallopian tubes.

The answer to your question is yes! ROFL! You can have pains before, during and even after O. I don't have my trusty copy of TCOYF right now, but you can have pains before (follicles swelling racing to be first), pains during (egg bursting out) and pains after (can't remember what causes this, maybe something about the blood buildup?). You can't really rely on O pains alone to know when you O, put it can give you a general idea and confirmation of other symptoms. I seem to have pains a couple of days prior to O. Sometimes I have major back pain the day of. I have been crampy all day and it is looking like a possible O day today with a big temp drop and EWCM (I'm on hold, so no BDing for me).

Based on your chart, I think today is a more likely O day with the huge drop in temps. Not necessarily a sign of O, but based on your pains and the drop and your CM, today looks very promising. You'll know more for sure tomorrow. Good luck!
