Hi! First of all, I have to say that you sound like such a patient person! Patience is NOT something that I've been blessed with, so charting 50+ day cycles and still being willing to try a few more months leads me to believe you're a saint! ;-)
I personally haven't used Clomid, but have a number of friends who have and they've all ended in single births. Did you share your concerns with your OB?
PS. I have a Marielle--she's 3! People tell us it's the most beautiful name and of course we agree!
If you have been charting, and see that you are not O'ing, and AF only comes with the help of Provera, I would DEFINATLY give Clomid a shot. I'm not sure where your Dr. got those stats, but my doc told me 8% chance of twins, and then they go down from there (lesser chance of triplets or more). Anywho..I just got done with a 70day cycle, and had to use provera to bring on AF (my first time taking it) and my Dr has also given me clomid since I seem to be O'ing just reeeeaalllly late. I really wouldn't worry too much about twins, I have been on the boards for about 6 months, and haven't heard any women on here that got a BFP with clomid that had or are going to have twins. I think the benefits of Clomid far outwiegh the risk of having twins...plus...no more loooong cycles!!!!
I have been taking Provera to jump start AF for about a year now.
I stopped having AF on my own about 3 years ago. Was put on BCP but can not take them. So Provera is the only way I can get AF.
My doctor has be on Provera now- And Clomid to O.
He wants to see if the Clomid will cause me to have a regular cycle without Provera which would be awesome!! If not, I will continue to take Provera, and Clomid until a BFP.
If you are not ready for Clomid, then do not take it.
The chance of multiples are really small.
