Does everyone have an ovulation dip?

I FINALLY got my positive OPK last night. Sheesh.

This a.m. I temped and again, had a really fast, low temp and when I repeated, a much higher. I took the higher, but I'm wondering if the lower would have been an ovulation dip. Does everyone get that? Or I am confusing this fictitious thing with an implantation dip?

Gotta love those OPKs...I didn't even get a + before O...I think I missed the surge though.

My temp dipped 2 days pre-o then climbed the next 2 days then up again post-o, which is what happened last cycle as well. I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but it seems to be a pattern for me. I think if you look at all of your signs and compare your charts over time you should hopefully see some sort of pattern, and that may tell you that your temp drops right before o.

I am using a BBT from Target. I happened to be there and happened to see it, so I bought it. This is my first month charting. I am having some issues, though...I've mentioned this before on this board, and its still happening. Usually when I wake up, I temp and get a temp within about 10 seconds. I can't help myself and do it again, because 10 seconds seems a little...quick to me. The second temp I get usually takes a minute to finalize and is like half a degree higher. So which should I use? Upon the advice I've received here, I've been using the second one, but since this is the ONLY way I'll know if I've ovulated, I want to make sure its accurate.

Like, this a.m. for example, the first temp I got was 96.69, lower than the previous day, and it registered extremely fast, fast enough for me to question the accuracy. I did it again and got 97.32, which is a big difference on the chart. I used the second...what should I be doing? Should I get a new thermometer?

Hey there,

I originally bought a thermometer from Target too and had the same issue!
