Don't know what to think of this

Hi again everyone! My name is Ingie and I posted a few weeks ago. I have a question about ovulation and was hoping that some of you would share some of your experiences and knowledge. I am awfully ignorant and don't feel like asking my friends since we are not ready to tell people we are TTC yet!
I went off BC 4 months ago and didn't have my period the first month. Since then I have been having periods regularly -- 26 day cycle, but they are very light and completely painless. Before I went on BCP I used to have a very heavy cycle with major cramping. Also, I don't feel like I ovulate. I recently started keeping track of my temperatures and they are only elevated during my period, and otherwise they don't seem to change at all -- they are quite flat, in fact. This month the temp went up right before and during my period and fell flat right after.
Nor do I see a change in the CM. Typically 3-4 days after the last day of my period I have some sticky CM, but then it stops after a day or two and becomes really dry.
This month the same thing happened, except, about 3 days after I became completely dry I feel like my sex drive has gone through the roof! Yet there is no CM.
I don't know what to make of this. Is it possible that the hormones have not been washed out of my blood yet and my body is still adjusting?
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I feel like most of my friends got pregnant right after they went off BCP, and I haven't even started ovulating!! Is this something I should worry about?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Ingie! Are you using fertility friend to chart your temps? If not, that will be a good way too see when you are o'ing, its kinda hard to tell when your are o'ing if your just looking at numbers, makes it a lot easier to see it on a chart, and see how it rises and falls....
I've been off BCP since sept, so I know the frustration of hearing about every other woman out there getting preggo right away off the pill, and here we are stuck...wondering if something is wrong with us. I'm sure your body is probably still getting used to itself, but if you are getting a period, you must be ovulating. Based on your cycle being 26days, your most fertile days are probably cd9-13(from day 1 of your period).
How are you checking your cm?, internally or just when you wipe? I have found that checking internally works best for me, but sometimes right after you poo is best, since the straining pushes your cm out towards the opening of your V. Even if its just watery, that's still good cm for sperm to survive. I suggest bd'ing as much as possible during those days, and especially when your sex drive jumps up!!
Good luck and lots of babydust!!!
Hi emnaj
Thanks for your input. I don't know whether I know how to check the CM. I've sort of being examining my panties and fiddling around in that area after I pee. So it's possible that I didn't know how to check properly. I will take your suggestion and see whether I can tell any difference. I remember that when I was not on the pill I used to be able to see CM on my panties.. and I was hoping that my body would go back to its old habits, but apparently it won't. Maybe I've gotten older, or maybe I need to give myself time to readjust.. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your thoughts and good luck to you too! Keep us posted on what's going on at your end.
morning!
Thanks Tiffany.. I just started charting a couple of weeks ago, and missed a few days because I forgot to take the temp before getting up. I guess I need to get used to this. So I will have to wait for one more cycle to be completely sure of what's going on. I will definitely post my chart then.
I had a question about the temp though. Are we supposed to take it right the minute we wake up? I woke up half hour earlier than usual today and took the temp. But I didn't get up from bed. When I took it again at my normal time when I usually do get up from bed it was around .15 higher. Which one should I record? Also, on the weekends we sleep till much later... should I still set the alarm to the regular time and take the temp then? Or does it not matter if it's an hour before/later?
you want to take your temp as close to the same time as possible each day. For this morning, I would use the first temp you took, since it was your "true" waking temp. My DF and I also sleep really late on the weekends, so I set my alarm for my temping, and then go back to sleep afterwards, that way you don't have a bunch of open circles on your chart, and FF won't yell at you, saying you have "inconsistant waking times". If you happen to not wake up in time, say a few hours before or after your normal time, FF and beamommy.com have temp adjuster that you can use. I don't really recommend using the temp adjuster frequently though. Only for those one-off times.
I have found it easiest for me to keep my thermometer right next to my alarm clock, with a pen and notepad to record my temp right away, sometimes I just pop the thermometer in my mouth, fall back asleep while waiting for the *beep beep beep* and then just turn it off, since it will show the last temp taken when you turn it on again.
good luck!! :)
no problem!! :)
