So this morning I decided to POAS. And there was a very clear horizontal line but I'm so sure I saw a very dim vertical line as well that wasn't as thick as the other. My period is 5 days late and I have no stress in my life currently. I've been quiting smoking to better help my chances of conceiving a healthy baby at some point. But I've been constantly sick with vomiting, back aches, stomach cramps, one of my breasts is sore the other not so much. I had a MC in january of this year not knowing I was pregnant. Could it be my turn for a baby?

I have another test that I will be taking in three days. But I wanted to know your opinions on it first.

A faint line is usually a positive unless you're using a blue dye test, in which case, they are too faulty to tell. The symptoms are good but most don't feel nausua until a few more weeks into their pregnancy but the cramps seem to be consistant for most pregnant women right away. I would suggest taking care of yourself and see what your next test says in a couple days. Your HCG should double every 48-72 hours. Good Luck!

I had my boyfriend look at it and he said that's definitely a plus sign!! So I'm still gonna take the other one to make sure there were no problems with this one and if it comes up positive again, I'm calling my doc ASAP. Thanks for the encouragement (:

That's great news!! What test are you using? Make sure it's a pink dye test and not a blue but other than that, happy testing and congrats!!

Actually, it is a blue dye test i think?. I don't know much about these tests. The results are blue so I take it that means it's a blue dye test. It was a cheap dollar store test cuz I was told by

Just look for the pink dye dollar store tests instead. Blue dye tests are notorious for misleading or ambiguous results. This doesn't mean that your not pg. Personally, I would never trust a blue dye after seeing how much heart ache they've caused. I've heard that Walmart sells 88 cent tests too...

Definitely look for anything that the picture on the box has pink as the result. We just recently had a poster who kept getting positve after positive on a blue dye test and AF ended up coming. They are terrible tests. I realize that every once in a while, the results are accurate but I just don't know why they are still on the market with such a high failure rate. In any case, I know there are $$ store pink dye tests out there so look for those or I bought a 3 pack of FRERs at Target for $13. The good news is if you get a bfn, you still have more to use to test the next couple days and if you get a bfp, you have extra to bask in the fun! :) Good Luck!!

I'm definitely gonna look into some pink dye tests because I did my other test this morning and it came out negative but the first was a positive. Should I try a pink dye at home test or just go straight to a blood test?

Definitely go pink dye test. It'll actually give you accurate answers with the least chance of a false positive or negative. Those blue dye tests should be outlawed. You can always do a confirmation blood test but you'll get the right answer with an FRER. Good Luck!

I believe in order to consider it a positve the plus line needs to be the same thickness as the control line. I had many experiences with the blue dye tests with results similar to what you are describing...and then I'd get AF. I would also suggest the pink dye test...and would read this one as a BFN and keep testing.
