OK, part 3 of my crazy saga.....

LOL

I had my appt. yesterday to go over my test results. (US, Vag US, and blood work)

I have 3 fibroids. 2 that are really small (2 cm each), and then one that is a bit of concern at 7.9 / 2.5 cm.

The dr drew a picture of it, and it looks like a pickle or something. LOL

He said that he would reccommend surgery, but it was up to me. He said he has seen ladies with bigger ones than that who go on to get pg.

So, we are going to hold off on surgery and see what happens. He said that if I get pg again and then have another MC, then he will suggest having the Myomectomy to remove the fibroids. ( I dont want to have the surgery unless I absolutely have to because of the risks of emergency hysterectomy, and or scarring that could cause an egg never to implant.)

The Fibroids are the submucousal kind, (in the thick muscle part of my uterus).

He said my blood work came back fine, and that my ovaries look fine.

Also, he said that not seeing AF since June 29th, is totally unrelated, so he put me on Provera for 5 days, and then Clomid to start on the 3rd day of AF.

He seems to think there is no reason why I couldnt be PG right away. ~smile~

He said that if I dont start AF with the Provera, then he wants to see me again to run other tests, but he thinks things are going to get jumpstarted right away.

He told me to buy Ovi-sticks to check O once AF is gone, too.

My main questions now are what the Clomid side effects are like? I have heard they are pretty severe PMS like symptoms. Should I warn DH and my co-workers in adance? LOL

I dont care what happens as long as it helps me get PG! LOL

Any comments on Clomid and Provera are appreciated! I am once again full of questions! HAHA

Thanks so much,

((HUGS))

Stephanie

p.s. My Dr. is the neatest guy in the world! He is from the West Indies and has a heavy Carribbean accent, and he looks *exactly* like Bill Cosby, and has the same sense of humor!

He told my Dh that when the Ovi-Sticks show I am about to O, he needs to "Get busy and make a deposit!" haha

He also made it a point to let DH know that 7 - 12% of women who take the Clomid have twins. ~smile~

Hi. I took Clomid for 4 cycles before getting PG with my son (now 18 months) and I just got back on it to TTC #2. I have taken both 50mg and 100mgs, with relatively no symptoms. A couple of times I noticed being a bit warmer than usual, but it wasn't uncomfortable and went away after I took my last pill.

I have heard that the side effects can be bad, though, which I hope is not the case with you.

Good luck!

Sounds like you are feeling pretty positive after that visit Stephanie! YAY! And a BIG YAY for Drs that we like! ;o) No input from me on Clomid- sorry. I hope it works well for you and we celebrate that BFP soon!

Thanks Tara!

This has been a crazy couple of months for me, still NO AF!! LOL

But hopefully the Provera will take care of that!

Have a great weekend!

Well I am on my 4th month of clomid. The only symptoms I have had were hot flashes. I don't think I have had any PMS symptoms. I had my first IUI today and it went well. I just had some cramping. But that is it. So good luck with everything!

I had a myomectomy 10 years ago and do not blame you for not wanting to go through that if its not absolutely necessary.

Both my sisters did a low dse chlomid and neither had any side effects to speak of. I think its the higher doses that can be problem.

I have my fingers crossed for you. GL!!!!

Thanks Kathy!

I am going to try to refrain from surgery at all costs!

The only reason I would have it is if I knew for sure it was keeping us from getting pregnant.

Good luck to you!!

Hi Stephanie,

Good luck on the Clomid. I have not really had any hot flashes. I have been a bit bloated and I did have worse than usual PMS. But it only lasted a few days....A benefit I've noticed with Clomid is that it makes me sleep REALLY well! If I take it too early in the evening before bed, I feel a little sick...but taking it right at bedtime keeps that from happening.

Hope this is your cycle!

Good for you! Everything sounds encouraging! I've been on Clomid for two cycles now with no side effects to speak of. I had some hellish PMS on my first cycle, but I think that had more to do with the Prometrium than the Clomid.

There is a great Clomid board here on iVillage for all us medicated-women... it hasn't been too heavily used this week, but I've found it a great place to go for my Clomid-specific qs and such. Here's the link, and good luck to you!
