Due Date Timing...What do you think?

For some reason I can't get stuff in the right category today. I posted this in introductions originally...whoops.

OK so here's the situation (sorry this is a little long):

I'm a teacher and would really like to have a baby at the end of March 2010 so I can take April/May (8 weeks) maternity leave + my 9 weeks in the summer for a grand total of 17 weeks leave...awesome right?!

So, I've been charting for about 9 months, and based on my charts I have these options:

Conceive June 20(ish) for a March 12(ish) due date
Conceive July 16(ish) for an April 8(ish) due date (either one of these would be great)...

But...my worry is that I know t often takes much longer than one or two cycles to get a BFP. So how much earlier should we start trying to take the pressure off those two months?

If we try at the end of April, then I'm looking at a mid-January baby (which probably means only 8 weeks ML).
If we try at the end of May, then I'm looking at a Valentine's baby (...I could possibly take off the rest of the semester at this point).

I'm really undecided about what to do. What if we try in April and get really lucky?...but what if we wait till June and it ends up taking 6 more months?

Anyone else been in this situation?

Thanks!!

Hello Heather,

I actually post on the TTC Your First Child board, but like to check out the post on this board and thought I'd give you my 2 cents.

Hi Heather!

I'm a teacher as well and we tried doing the same thing you are trying to achieve. We started last Spring TTC and still do not have a baby. We've had luck getting pregnant, but no luck keeping the babies. Therefore we have ditched our initial plan and hope to get pregnant whenever. It is really hard to determine. If it were me I would start trying in the Spring, but that is just my two cents.

Good luck and best wishes!

:) Heidi
