eek ... i just realized

It just hit me last night that if nothing happens this cycle, and I'm onto my IUI that I have to go in on either CD2 or CD3 for an internal ultrasound. Obviously, I'll have my period. I guess I can't think too much of it, since everyone does at this testing ... but what has been your experience w/internal ultrasounds?

A vaginal u/s isn't too bad. It's just a long wand (looks a little like a certain toy...) covered in what looks like a condom. Each time I've had one (maybe 4 or 5 times in my life) I've been under an exam sheet and they handed the wand to me under the sheet so I could insert it myself. It's a little uncomfortable at times, but not painful or anything. Granted, each time I've had one I've been pg, but I'm sure the fundamentals of it are the same, pg or not.
I hope you get your BFP this cycle and it's all moot! GL, and lots of baby dust!
I had to have an internal u/s this cycle...on my 3rd day. It really wasn't too bad. My doctor inserted the wand herself and didn't really seem to mind. Then when it was done I just had to clean up a little bit. It didnt' hurt at all...just a little messy but just had to not think about what was going on down there. Hopefully you do get your BFP and never have to do it!!!

Ive had several vaginal u/s but I've always been pregnant during them. They do, like other women have said, look like a certain toy. My doctor never let me insert it myself but it wasnt all together to horrible. For my it was uncomfortable and it lasted about 15 min. Just breathe and dont focus to much on it for you will get a little freaked out. I hope you get a BFP and dont have to go through one tho.
