Hi, I'm new to Ivillage and love it!!! Recently I had another laporoscopy, I had another one 8 months ago in July, 2002. My husband and I are trying to conceive, but nothing seems to be working. I'm 35 years old. I would of liked to start having children when I was younger but that never happened. My husband has been tested and he's fine.

I still have to have my tubes tested (x-rayed) to make sure they are not blocked, and another test where right before my period (I think) they take a piece of my lining and test it? Does anyone know about these tests? We have an appointment May 1st w/ a fertility clinic. Can anyone offer me any advice, it's getting very depressing. Thanks!

Welcome! I'm in lurker mode but I wanted to offer you (((HUGS))). I understand what you are going through. I'm 26, I have endo, and I too have had a lap and I will probably have another one soon. Please allow me to recommend the endometriosis board in addition to this one. The ladies on both of these boards are very supportive and are very knowledgeable. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your dr to do another lap after only 8 months? I had mine in Aug 2002 and the pain returned in full force a few months later and now I'm on birth control pills & pain killers to control the pain. My dr says he doesn't want to rush into another surgery because he is afraid of the scar tissue. If I've gone to far by asking this, please forgive me, I'm despret. I love my dr. He is the only one that has tried to help me. I will not go to another dr so thats not even an option.

As far as the tests you mentioned, I've had the HSG (I think thats what its called) and it wasn't that bad to me. I took some anaprox before hand (per my dr) and I spotted for the rest of the day and that was it. I don't know much about the other test. Sorry.

I hope everything works out for you,

Shannon

(Preg and dd ment)

Hello there (Shannon, too!)from another lurker. First, I hope my post is not offending in any way, but I wanted to tell you that I had endo, too, but it was not diagnosed until during a c-section for my dd in August 2001. So, please don't be depressed! I was in terrible pain and had an appt to see a fertility specialist in hopes of scheduling a lap, but didn't get that far. Somehow, during all the pain and depression I still managed to conceive although it did take 8 cycles. I certainly wish you all the best. I am not as well-read on endo as I should be, but I know mine was pretty severe and had actually caused one of my uterine ligaments to twist my uterus around and my colon was attached to my uterus from the adhesions as well. My doctor (who has been around a while) said he had never seen anything like it before. I remember the pain and I am so sorry for both of you to have to endure it. I have been on BCP since dd's birth to keep it at bay. I was off BCP for 11 months before I got symptoms before, so I will definitely start TTC sooner after coming off the pill this time. (crossing fingers here). Anyway, sorry to ramble but I am rooting for both of you and hope you both feel better and get BFPs soon!!!
