I ovulated on Friday according to FF and yesterday I woke up bleeding. Kinda like AF but very fresh. I don't have any cramping or anything. Just bleeding. It is not very heavy, but neither is AF for me. I talked to the nurse and she just said it could be ovulation bleeding??? Ever heard of this? I did not think ovulation bleeding would go on this long.

Here is my chart: http://circles2.fertilityfriend.com/home/21687

Thanks for the advice, I am getting worried.

Hello :)

I got this from OBGYN net - it is a place where you can ask OBGYN's questions....looks like what you are experiencing is normal. :)

p.s. the question is at the bottom, and the answer is on the top.

I've never heard of "ovulation bleeding" per se (not that that means it doesn't exist of course, I'm certainly no expert)... I've heard of pain on ovulation though. Also, I've heard of mid-cycle breakthrough bleeding or spotting, especially if you are perimenopausal, or recently were taking birth control pills. I've also heard of implantation spotting. Sometimes there can be bleeding if the cervix gets traumatized, i.e. if you have a gyn procedure like a LEEP or something. Have you ever had bleeding at unexpected times of the month before? If I were you I'd ask to speak to the doctor to see if it's anything to worry about.

Funny, I had the same thing that sort of freaked me out. I called my doctor who said it was ovulation bleeding. I said it had never happened before, but apparently your body can change and just do stuff like that occasionally. She said to keep an eye on it though and to call back if it changed.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for looking that up for me. That is great. I am beginning to feel better about waiting a few days to see what happens. I guess this just happens sometimes??

Ohhh, implantation bleeding. I might have considered that too. I read somewhere on here that by the time your temps rise you have ovulated by 24-36 hours. If that is true than the bleeding started at 5dpo...I guess it is possible!!

Thanks!

The advice nurse chalked it up to either breakthrough bleeding or ovulation bleeding. They just were not very nice about it and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I was worried because this has never happened to me before. I am going to wait few days and if it is not gone, I will see the doc. Thanks!

It is great to hear that I am not the only one!! Did it last a long time for you? The nurse did not tell me to call back at all.

Thanks!
