The every-other-day method?

Ok, so I just made that one up! But, seriously, has anybody ever tried just BDing every other day? We are only in our 3rd month of ttc, but I am already sick of all the charting and temping and checking CM & CP, the asprin and robitussen, blah, blah, blah.... BDing every other day may cut down on the amount of swimmers each time, but this way, a woman would literally have sperm in her all the time. There's no way an eggie would get past that without a fight! ;) And I'm sure hubby wouldn't object to this method ;)

What do you all think?

Well as far as increasing your chances I think it is a very good idea, and if your husbands sperm count isn't low then his "supply" should be fully replenished within 18-24 hours so there would be no problem there. Good Luck

LOL, Angie, that's what we're trying this month, but along with charting temps and checking CM. However, even though my chart *says* I "O"ed on CD11, we're still doing the every-other-day thing until AF shows (or not - I hope!) Can't miss anything that way, I figure! So, I think you're definitely on the right track! Good luck to you! :)

****Warning: PG mentioned****

You don't necessarily ovulate on CD 14. You ovulate 14 days before the start of your period. IE I had a 33 day cycle, so I O'd on Cd 18/19. Once I figured that out and we bd'd CD 17, 18 and 19, that was the month we conceived.

Good luck and yes, we had tried the every other day to no avail!

Hi Angie,

My DH are just about to start trying for the first time and that's what we're going to do. I read in this great book - Getting Pregnant Naturally - that it is a way to do it. The writer recommends that men ejaculate every two or three days anyway (she says that studies have found it makes the sperm stronger and waiting longer can lead to diminished sperm and inferior quality) so why not take advantage of it!??

Have fun! I know I'm planning to... LOL:)

PS My DH is also taking 2000 mg of Vit C a day 'cause the book says it leads to strong, healthy, v-e-r-y mobile sperm.

(past pregnancy mentioned)

Hi there! I just wanted to add that I did the every other day BD from CD10 until CD20 when I was TTC#1 and that is when I got pg with my dd. I had not done that before. I think the reason it worked for me that month is that I was O'ing later than I thought some of the time and it was BDing later in my cycle that I believe was the key. I agree that the best thing is to not stop BDing just bc temps or an OPK say you have ovulated, bc you never know. When I got pg with dd, I did not use an OPK or chart, but I am doing it this time. Last month I bd every other day except 2 days in a row the day before and the day of 'O', and this month I will just go every other day. I intend to continue BD even after my temps indicate I have ovulated. GL to you!!
