Experience with Red Raspberry Leaf?

I am concerned because yesterday at 3dpo I had some mild cramps and a little bit of spotting. I know that it is way too early for implantation, and I never have spotting mid-cycle.

I started taking red raspberry leaf caplets on CD10 to improve the thickness of my lining. (I decided to use the caplets rather than the tea so I knew how much I was taking.) I started off with 3 caplets/day (half the recommended dosage) and then increased to 6/day after O. Yesterday, I only took 3 in the morning and did not take it in the evening because of the cramping and spotting.

I have read that rrl is supposed to "tone" the uterus (which I assume means mild contractions). I have also read that it is safe to take through the entire cycle while TTC. Some sources say it should be stopped after getting a BFP because it could cause a miscarriage while others say it is safe to take throughout pregnancy.

I am very confused! Could these mild cramps and spotting interfere with implantation? Should I stop taking it now?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Danielle,

Ugg, that sucks about the levels from your RE. I know, men- right?? My DH is exactly the same way. At least he gives me final decision all thing reproductive though.

I'm going to wait until the u/s. I think I'll just be too wigged out waiting for the beta results, I bought some hpts to take in the wait up to the u/s though!

Thanks for the birthday wishes :0)

Hi girls,

Melissa~Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!! (Sorry I'm a day late.) I hope that you had a great one and that you were able to get some rest over the weekend. I think you are wise to wait for the u/s. I know I would be torn in that situation (being the impatient and inquisitive person I am), but I think it's best not to stress yourself unnecessarily. Still sending lots of sticky vibes your way!

Danielle~Sorry that the news from the RE wasn't more positive. (((Hugs))) On a good note, I have read all of these amazing stories of women who conceived using acupuncture when they had been given less than 1% chance of conceiving by their Dr's, and your acu-ist has such a great success rate!

I know, men just don't get it. My husband is exactly the same! He thinks I am being too obsessive about TTC and says if I can just relax it will happen. Oh yeah, when? They just don't get the whole biological clock. Sometimes I literally feel like a ticking time bomb. I know it is hard but try not to stress yourself too much (look who is talking). I try deep breathing and music when I am in that frame of mind.

AFM, I had my first acu appointment yesterday and really liked it. I felt relaxed yet energized at the same time. She also had me bring my FF charts and wants me to continue charting. Unfortunately, the rest of my day was super stressful. I didn't finish work until almost 9pm, and my neck was pinched from being on the computer too long. At least today was better.

Gotta finish dinner. I will introduce myself on the 30-somethings tonight or tomorrow. Have a great evening.

Hi Danielle,

Sorry for disappearing like that. I got super busy last week with work and social engagements and didn't have any time for the internet. We also hosted a dinner party over the weekend and had two other groups of friends over. I feel like I have been constantly cleaning the house and the kitchen!

The acupuncture is going really well (this is my second week). The scheduling has been a bit tricky because of work, but I think it is definitely worth the trouble. I am feeling more energetic, and I don't have the massive food cravings that I usually have. I have also been sleeping better and feel more rested in the morning. Even my DH (who was pretty skeptical about the acu.) has said that he notices a difference in my mood.

I should O within the next couple of days, so over the weekend I bought 4 bottles of V8 Splash to help with CM. Well, DH noticed it in the fridge (we've never had it before) and immediately poured himself a BIG glass! I was about to say "Hey, wait a minute, that's mine!" when I realized that I would have to provide an explanation... so I just smiled to myself. Who knows, maybe it helps the swimmers as well.

I hope that you are doing well during the 2ww. Keeping everything crossed that this cycle is it for you! I will introduce myself on 30-somethings (maybe after dinner) just haven't had time.

Baby dust and BFP wishes to you,

Krista

NO apologies needed!! Post when you can. :) It sounds like you've been a busy little bee lately!! I'm glad everything is going well.

I'm SO glad to hear that you like acupuncture!!! The changes you noted are the exact same changes I felt when I started-- especially the sleeping better part! It's amazing how much of a difference it makes! Are you taking any herbs or anything?

FOUR bottles of V8 Splash?!! lol You'll definitely notice a change in CM with that much! :) I hope it helps. It's good stuff.

I had my IUI last Saturday-- a little earlier than expected. My acupuncturist had said that she wanted to do acu before the IUI so I had to call the poor thing on Friday and ask her if she could see me on Saturday before the IUI. So here I am at her house on a rainy Sat morning at 7AM to have acu!!! She was so sweet to do that for me.

Good luck with the BDing and I'll be hoping and praying for a BFP for you this cycle!! Keep me posted little missy!!

Take care!

~d
