SPECIAL NOTE:
Featured members for Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be a little different. Tuesday's featured member is Cherisse (maddiesmom_26). Please ask her questions as usual. However, I am posting the featured member folder for Peggie (diksea_gal) who is the Wednesday featured member now also. The reason is that Peggie can only answer questions at night, so we will post our questions for her Tuesday, she'll answer them Tuesday night, then we'll read her answers on Wednesday. Please, please take the time to post both ladies questions. Make Cherisse feel like the one and only Queen on Tuesday, and not like she's sharing her lime light. Take the time to post questions to Peggy even though she won't be answering. Thanks so much for all of your cooperation with featured members!!
Love & hugs,
Anne

2) When did you stop dreaming it?
3) What made you stop?
4) What would it take for you to fulfull that dream now that you are an adult?
5) Do you even want to? Why/why not.
Wow! What a question! :-)
1) I guess I had two childhood dreams. One was to become a nurse, and the other was to become a mother. And don't laugh! It's true! My sister is 18 months younger than me, and my Mom tells me that I used to nurse my baby doll when my Mom nursed my sister! LOL!
2)& 3) I stopped dreaming about the nurse career once I was in middle school. I do not care for science at all, and I can be a little squeamish when it comes to medical issues. I figured that would not be a good choice even though I love to help people. As far as the mother dream...I never stopped dreaming that one!
4)& 5) Honestly the nurse career has never come up again. I would love to do other things now like be a travel agent and travel the world! However, I knew from the first day of work right out of college, that the only career that would make me complete would be to become a SAHM. I know it sounds silly, but it's true! I was a computer programmer, and although I LOVED it, I couldn't wait to just stay home and raise kids! My wish came true in March of 2001 when my DD was born. Although it is hard sometimes, I would never go back!
Thanks for the very thought provoking question. I haven't thought of the nurse idea in years! I guess as a Mom, I get to be a nurse to DD (and DH) sometimes! :-)

Congrats again on your BFP, that is so wonderful!!
Hope you are enjoying your day Queen!
Here are my questions:
1. When you married DH, did you keep your maiden name, take his, or hyphenate?
2. What is your favorite holiday?
Have a great day!
((Hugs!))

Great question!! My favorite high school memory was Prom my sophmore year. My BF was a junior, so I got to go, and I was SO excited! I had a pink dress that was GORGEOUS! And yes, even today it would still look great. It had spaghetti straps (my Mom wouldn't go for strapless! LOL!!), and it was floor length. It was satin with a lace overlay on the skirt. I felt like a princess. My BF came to the house to pick me up (where my parents took tons of pictures), and then we went to his parents house (so they could take tons of pictures!), and then we were off. The ballroom was beautiful, and we danced the entire night long. I still have in scrapbooks some pictures from that event. Even though we broke up a year later, that is still one of my favorite memories. It was a magical night to a 16 year old!
Thanks for letting me relive that one!! :-)

GM, Tara!! {{{HUGS}}} to you as well!!
I grew up in Lewisville, Texas...just north of Dallas, Texas. I was actually born in Dallas, but my parents moved to Lewisville when I was 2, and it's the only home I remember. In fact, they still live in the same house!! I went to college in Waco, Texas, and then moved to Houston, Texas when I graduated. That's where I met DH, and I lived there for 7 years (5 of those years married to DH), and our DD was born there. Over the Christmas holidays this last year (2002), we made the move to Illinois. We live in the Naperville area (near Chicago), and we love it here.
I guess I would have to say that my favorite place was Houston. All my friends are there, and I loved the area where we lived. The main problem, though, is the heat! :-) We moved north to get away from the heat, and to get closer to DH's family. Now we are pretty much right b/n my family and DH's. (Mine are in Texas, and his are in North Dakota.)
Thanks!

Fun question! I would have to say a Koala bear. I think they are so cute, and so snuggly! I had a few Koala stuffed animals, and they were always my favorite! :-)
Thanks!!

Hmmm...three things. The first thing would be a very long, very good book! That way I could get a chance to read with few interuptions! I would also need a good lounge chair, so I could relax while I read, and so I had a comfortable place to sleep. And third, a cell phone! So I could call DH and have him rescue me once I was ready! LOL!
Fun!

I was hoping someone would ask this! :-)
I met DH through my company. We were computer consultants, so we were always on different projects. I started on a project in March, and he came to the same project in September. We sat right next to each other, but never said more than "Hello" to one another. Skip forward a couple months to April. We were both convinced to ride in the MS 150 (a bike ride from Houston to Austin). So, we started training with a group. That's where we finally got to talk. After the MS 150, we started hanging out with the same people from work. One of our friends saw something spark between us, and she kind of set us up. It was one of those, "My BF and I are going to a movie, do you two want to come? Great! Oops, we can't make it!". Needless to say, DH and I went to the movies by ourselves, and we count that as our first date. That was in May. By July we knew we would get married, but I didn't want to rush too much!
It was Valentine's Day in 1997, and we once again we on the same project. (Since our first project, we had both moved around a lot onto different projects.) We were working late because we were trying to make a deadline, so we finally finished around 10:00pm. So much for our first V-Day together! Well, DH said he would like to at least try to do something, so we took a horse & carriage ride. It was there that he asked me to be his wife. I was shocked! He gave me a Precious Moments figurine that was a girl with a ring on her finger. When I looked up at him, he had the ring out and was asking me. Of course my answer was "YES"!! Well, the story doesn't end there! :-)
The next morning, we were on a flight to North Dakota to tell his family in person. DH wanted to tell our family in person before we told any friends. (Needless to say, I spent the night with my future SIL so that I wouldn't be tempted to tell my roommates!!) Because DH's parents had gone to a Bed & Breakfast (he knew in advance), we then had to drive to where they were staying. They were shocked to see us, and once MIL saw my ring, she was thrilled (and crying!). We spent one night with them, and then we were off to Dallas to tell my family. My Dad already knew b/c DH had flown to see him on Thursday (DH proposed on Friday) to ask for my hand. How sweet! My mom was thrilled, and my sister was even in town (from Boston) to share our excitement.
Needless to say, it was an amazing weekend, and one I will never forget!
Thanks for letting me share!

GM!!
What do I love most...it's hard to just pick one thing! :-) The first thing that attracted me to him was his unbelievable kindness. He will do anything for anyone, and he is completely geniune! He is also very dependable. If I need him, he will be there no questions asked. If my car breaks down, if I'm an emotional wreck, if I just need a hug...he's there! I feel VERY lucky to have him, and I can't imagine life without him!
Thanks!
Cherisse
GM, Connie!
I guess I have two answers. My DREAM car is a Mercedes convertible. Red with tan leather interior. With ALL the bells and whistles. I would drive everywhere with the top down and without a care in the world! Along the beach would be the best. With the radio booming, and the sun warming my skin! :-)
Okay, on to reality...my dream car now, with one DD and other baby on the way, is a Honda Odyssey. Don't laugh...I really want a mini van. It would be a reddish color with tan leather interior, and again with all the bells and whistles. The DVD/VCR option, power EVERYTHING, and a great stereo system. I'm just imagining how nice it would be to push a button, have the doors open so that DD can crawl into her seat, and I can just pop the carseat (with the new baby) into the base.
Thanks! Now, are you going to get me one? ;-)
{{{HUGS}}} to you!!

Thanks, Pam!! Hopefully your BFP is just around the corner!!
My favorite book...well my favorite series of books is the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. I have read all 11 books that are out (only one more to go!) and I really enjoy them. My second favorite series is, yes, Harry Potter! I just read the fifth book, and I love it!
My favorite all time magazine is People. I don't know why, but I love reading about all the celebs and what they are up to. Plus, People has some really good stories about real people. I don't have much time for reading, but if given the choice for magazine, I will always grab the People magazine!
