If you could accomplish only one thing (other than conceiving) in the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Have fun!
Anne
I'll go with my standard question- Id you hac $10,000 and could only give it to one charity which one would you give it to and why?
Have a great day!

I think I read a million years ago that your ID name is actually your dog's name. What kind of dog do you have? And does she do any funny tricks?
Have a great day!

If I could accomplish one thing in life (other than conceiving, since you ruled that out!), it would have to be to have a positive influence on today's children...and on mine whenever they decide to come along! I have several people that have truly made a difference in my life and I would like to do the same for as many children as I can. Even if it's just one special phrase that a teacher said to me, or my parents neverending support and trust, there are people that I look back on and think, wow, that person really affected me. Whether it was to give me more confidence, help me see and think differently, have compassion for others, etc..., I think about these people often and they will always hold a place in my heart.
On that note, I am currently an environmental engineer, but next month I will begin a new graduate program to become and Elementary Educator. I believe I have found my passion and I cannot wait to embark on this new career. I only hope that I will be able to affect some children's lives the way my teachers, parents, and family have positively affected mine. So, this accomplishment will be an ongoing, lifelong challenge!
Thanks a lot for the question Anne...I love to think about my new career and the challenges and opportunities it will bring to me.
Cheers!

If I had $10,000 to give to a charity, I believe I would give it to the 4-H's Riding for the Handicapped Program. I'm not sure if they technically qualify as a charity...but I'm sure they'd accept my donation, right?!
When I was in 7th grade I volunteered at this progam by helping mentally and physically disabled children ride horses. The joy and fulfillment I could see on their faces when they got on those horses was amazing. I am actually getting goose bumps thinking of it! It was just such a postive moment for the children, and their parents said that they would talk about coming back all week long before thier next weekly lesson. I often think of going back and volunteering again.
Thanks for the memories...maybe it will motivate me to get back out there and volunteer!
Cheers!

My question for you today ~~~
Where is your favorite place that you have ever been to? And... Where would you like to go?
Have a great day!

Good memory you have! Thanks so much for thinking of my dog...I'll give her a big hug from you when I get home :)
Yes, her name is Jasmine. She is a Chow, Sharpei mix. Her fur is still like puppy fur even though she's 6.5 years old...it's sooooo soft, just like a teddy bear. She's a light tan color and is meduim-sized. OK, this is more than you asked for, I know! I just can't help it...she's so cute!
Let's see...funny tricks. Well, most of the stuff she does really entertains us! (Errrr...maybe we're just easily amused?!). She loves to give kisses (i.e. licks!), she knows all her toys by name. If we say, "Jasmine, go get the Jack", she'll run all around the house until she finds it. Another thing that's cute...we give her a biscuit (a.k.a. a Milk Bone) every AM. On weekends if we sleep in she wakes up at the normal time and huffs like she's tired of patiently waiting for the biscuit. If the huffing doesn't work she starts to grunt...it's a very funny sound she makes!
Thanks again for thinking of my puppy :)
Cheers!

Thanks for the question...I LOVE to travel!
I've traveled to a few countries, and they are all sooo different, it's hard to pick a favorite place. I've been to Africa (Egypt, Tanzania, and Kenya), Bulgaria, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
My favorite...hmmm. I'd have to say Africa and the three countries I visited while I was there. It was just so different from anywhere I had ever been and the experiences I had while there were amazing, and like no other I could experience elsewhere. Some of the highlights were climbing Kilimanjaro, going on a long safari, and riding a hot air balloon while seeing wild giraffes, elephants, etc... I love photography, and this was the perfect trip for that!
As far as where I'd like to go...there are so many wonderful places. I have actually never been to Western Europe. DH has a strong affinity for Germany because his best friend grew up there. DH has been before and would love to take me to see the country, so I'd have to say that's the next place I'd like to visit. We're planning to go there in 2006 for the Men's Soccer World Cup.
Thanks for rekindling my travel bug!
Cheers!

Let's see...the car first. YES...I will definitely need an upgrade. I've been driving the same car since I was 16...and I'm 28!!! LOL! My current car is a 1991 Mazda Protege. It has been a wonderful car for me...although its A/C recently went out, we had it fixed, and it broke again one week later...Ugghhhh! So now I'm driving around the hot and humid VA-DC-MD area with no A/C. Really it's not too bad until it rains and I can't open my windows...LOL! We're actually in the process of looking at cars for me. So far the front runner is a Subaru Forrester, probably maroon. I'm drawn to them because they have a great safety rating and a bit more room (for child and dog!) than a sedan. I wouldn't say this is my dream car, but I honestly have no idea what it would be. If I had lots of $$$ and no kids or pets I would get a BMW Z3 convertible. My mom has one and I borrowed it while my car was in the shop...man, it was NICE to drive!
Dream house would be in the eastern U.S. in a coastal area overlooking the water, surrounded by woods, but not too far from neighbors. Not necessarily a beachy area...maybe a rocky coast with beaches nearby. It would be a Cape Cod style with vaulted ceilings, a nice kitchen with an island. The kitchen and family room would be one big area, separated by a half-wall. I like an open, airy house, but also one where everyone can have some privacy. I have a family friend that creates personalized ceramic wall tiles to put in the kitchen, bathroom, etc... I would design some tiles with her and have them installed in the kitchen and master bath. The house would have a large, finished, walk-out basement, a large yard, a gorgeous master bath with a two person tub that looks out towards the water, a separate apartment over the 3-car garage, a huge deck and/or patio for entertaining, a wrap-around front porch. I would want the house to be elegant, but comfortable...no rooms that never get used! I want it to be a place that my children's friends will love to come and visit...that's really important to me.
Oh...and a laundry chute from all the bedrooms to the laundry room...DH would LOVE that! And hot tub for those cold winter nights when we want to get cozy outside!
Thanks for the question Connie...Maybe one day...
Cheers!
