If you could change one thing about your town or neighborhood, what would you alter and why?
Have fun!
Anne
Great question, Anne! Funny, DH and I were just talking about this the other day. We were saying how much we like our city, and how generally it's a pretty city. There isn't much we'd change actually, except make sort of a "central park" of Manchester. We have a rich history (we are one of the "mill cities", and every 4 years we have tons of political candidates visit as NH has the First in the Nation Primary), loads of great restaurants, shopping, museums, a theater, a new civic arena that is home to the Monarchs hockey team (Minor league of the L.A. Kings), and are in the process of building a baseball stadium that will be home to the minor league Red Sox team! So we agreed that a nice "central park" would be great to tie it all in.
Here are some photos I was able to find on the web:

I hope you are enjoying being Queen today!! Here's my question for you:
Well, it's not really a question - just a request for information! Please describe how you met DH and how he proposed to you.
Have a great day!! :-)

Aww, Kristy...Thanks for making my heart melt all over again just by bringing up such nice memories! :)
Actually, my DH, Shane, used to be best friends with my now XH :-O I know... But I've known Shane for almost 15 years now, and as much as there was always a "thing in the air", an attraction, we never persued one another because each of us was always with someone else. And when he wasn't with someone I was always trying to set him up with my friends because I knew what a special guy he is and how lucky any woman would be to be with him. Anyway, after my XH and I split up, Shane and I got together. Needless to say they are no longer friends. But as much as it created some waves among mutual friends, it was the best decision of our lives to follow our hearts. He is every much as special as I always knew he was...he's my precious precious gem (even if he is an idiot sometimes LOL -- my "Darned DH" post from monday ;-) ).
He wanted to surprise me with a proposal, but we both knew it was coming for a while and he was having a hard time doing so. His idea -- pick a random day with no significance and do it at home. Which was fine...except he picked the first day of my summer class I had just started taking. I was expected home at 10 p.m....but those of you in school know that very often the first day is abbreviated. I got home at 7 and surprised HIM! He kept trying to sort of lure me out into the living room, but I'd had a long day and was starved so I was just going about my business. I decided to find something to eat and opened the fridge -- low and behold there was a bottle of champagne. Not entirely out of the ordinary, since it's one of our favorite imbibings to share, but I said, "What's the champagne for?" He said, "It's to celebrate....if you say yes." I was still not gettin it...for a few seconds. By the time I got my head out of the fridge and turned around, there he was on one knee proposing! :) We spent the rest of the evening cuddling and grabbed some dinner out. :)
Now I'm all warm and fuzzy... :) Thanks Kristy!!
I've also heard there's a pretty nice mall there in Manchester!!
I've got 2 questions for you.....
1) What made you decide to become an RN?
2) If you caould go anywhere in the world, with money and time unlimited, where would you go?
Have a great day!!

1) What made you decide to become an RN? I decided to become an RN after working in social work for a while. I had always worked with children in that field, and had always been most interested in the medical aspects of their care. Medicine and the human body have always fascinated me. I thought Maternity would be a "fun" field to work in, and totally soaked up the "reproductive system" topics covered. I still do! I had considered NICU for a while -- I have a nephew who was a twin (his twin passed away 2 hours after birth) and it amazed me the care the nurses provided him and my sister with in the time he spent there. But I worry about dealing with losses...so maternity it is! And I completely love it!
2) If you caould go anywhere in the world, with money and time unlimited, where would you go? Italy, for sure. Shane and I had wanted to go there for our honeymoon, and then 9/11 happened and we canceled that. Nursing school got in the way after that, and then finances when I was laid off last year. Now we are buying a home and TTC...so I imagine it's going to be on hold for a few more years. But we'll get there!
This is very fun :) Thanks for participating with me :)
