(Catanderson) Welcome today's featured member Cathy. She is the board's Queen of the day!

Please ask her many questions. Ask her about her life goals, ttc, DH, favorite things etc... Get to know her. Ask what you will, be creative but not too personal. Cathy is our Queen of the day!!! Let's make her feel like one :D

Hi Queen Cathy!!!

my fav question now is:

Do you scrunch up the toilet paper or fold it?? :)~

Here's some other ones:

How long have you been ttc?

Do you have any children?

Are you nutty like me or more of the serious type?

Have fun today!!!

How did you and DH meet? How long have you been together?

What is the most romantic thing you have done together?

Good Luck,

Vicki

Hey Cathy. My question is do you remember what it was that made you decide you wanted to ttc? Even if you have other children, what initially made you realize you wanted to become a mother? Baby dust to you, Amanda

Hey Nutty Nancy...

(sorry for the late replies ladies...had a late night at work last night. Couldn't get myslef out of bed)

Ok... the questions...

Must say, I love the TP question. I'm more of a messy wrap kinda person. I bunch a little in my hand, then wrap the rest around my fingers and palm and pull my hand out... So it's sort of a soft, floppy, roll... understand?

We're TTC #1 right now.. Just started C3 today... Finally! (C2 was an extended one)

Af for being serious or nutty?... I'd say I'm more of a happy/serious type.. with bouts of nuttiness.

Thanks Nancy!

Good Morning Vicki!

I'm 32, DH is 26. Before we met, I'd always dated older guys, and he dated younger girls.. Guess the switch is what worked.

We were both working together as cooks at a Casino in San Diego.. I was in the buffet section, and he was in the fine dining Steak House.. I got transferred into there after 2 months, and that's where we met.

Here's our "odd" story... sorry if it gets long.

When we met, he was living with his girlfriend, and incredibly unhappy. We would go on breaks together and talk about it extensively. I kept telling him he needed to get out and try happiness for a change. We would flirt a little, but never anything more... he never so much as even layed a finger on me. ... which I thought was admirable since he was still living with someone else.. no matter how unhappy he was. Anyway, after about six months, he decided to move out, but didn't think he could afford his own place at the time since he was basically spending all his money on them since she only had a part time job... I suggested he move in with my roommate and I.. we had a 3 bedroom house.. with one empty room. We contemplated about it, then I changed my mind. I knew there was something strong between us that we hadn't even scratched the surface of yet. So I said if he wanted to move in, he should move in "with me"..(same room) A leap of faith!!! He said he would, but then kept putting it off. I was tired of getting my hopes up, so finally just gave him a house key. Told him no more stories.. just call me when you're there... (keep in mind we still had never so much as kissed, held hands or even hugged).

A week later he called me at work (he had the night off).. asked me what I wanted for dinner. I asked where he was and he said "home." "Who's Home?"... "ours" he said... OH MY GOD!! He moved in.. into my room! I got home that night to him greeting me with a dozen pink roses.. and KFC for dinner. It was awkward for about 5 minutes till he finally pinned me against the wall and kissed me ... that's still the most intense kiss I've ever had in my life! So, to make a long story short, we went from nothing to everything that night.

He proposed 4 months later in Yosemite while on a camping trip. We had been taking lots of pictures of ourselves together... setting up the camera and using time-lapse. He had me sit on a wall in front of Bridal Veil Falls (appropriate, huh) He set up the camera on the tripod, and ran and jumped into the picture.. just as he had been doing all weekend.. then after the camera clicked, he said he goofed and wanted to try again. He went and reset the camera, but this time, instead of standing next to me, he dropped to one knee... and proposed.. And got it all on film!! He's my angel!

We married 10 months later.. on 03/02/02. ...and are living happily ever after!

The end..

Thanks Vicki... I still love telling our story!

Amanda...

That's a tough one. I've wanted children for as long as I can remember. Both my parents come from large families.. my mom even has 13 brothers and sisters. (I have one brother)... My DH and I want 3.

I don't think I can really pin-point what made me want kids.. I've always loved them.. I babysat lots when I was little, then became a Vacation Bible School Teacher for PreSchoolers while I was in High-School... and then did volunteer work for an Orphanage in College... I just love kids. DH and I knew from the start that we'd have kids.. was just a matter of time. We wanted to wait until we were a little more financially stable.. Before starting a family, we wanted to buy a home, get new cars, and pay off all debts... We're almost there... so decided to start a little early.

Thanks, Cathy

Tara...

I like that question!

I grew up in San Diego... Didn't move away until DH and I met. But then only moved 120 miles away.. now live in the mountains near Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead.

My favorite childhood memory would be probably going to Wisconsin every summer.. My parents are both from there and my mom came from a huge family on a farm. I would spend my summers working on the farms with all my cousins.. Horseback riding, milking cows, bailing hay, fishing, canning fruits and vegies, working in the gardens, picking baskets and baskets of wild berries.... I never was much of one for a city girl.. DH and I are planning on moving to Oregon in about 5 years... We want to be there before our kids start school...

Thanks Tara!

Cathy
