fertility monitor with clomid??

HELP! I just spent big $$ on fertility monitor, THEN I read that "PEOPLE ON CLOMID SHOULD NOT USE A FERTILITY MONITOR. Why is that? DID I WASTE MY MONEY?????

Do not panic! LOL. I know it's hard not to sometimes. I also have the monitor (2nd time) and it's ok to use it while on clomid. I just finished my first cycle of clomid last Thurs. The reason "some" say it's not real accurate to use while on clomid is you may get a lot more false "high fertility days" than normal due to the increased estrogen and horomones in your body. I started testing the day after my last pill which for me was cd 9 and it said high fert. and it's been saying high now for 5 days (today is cd 13 for me) my doc said I should O on cd 14 but I highly doubt it since I don't even have peak fert. yet. I have a regular af of about every 34-36 days (long cycle I know..ugh) so I am taking clomid to try and cut my cycles down (no proof that is helps but some say it has) and to also try and O earlier than cd 20 without the clomid. I am glad I inveted in the monitor, best purchase ever. Also know that you do NOT need to test every time it asks you too, if you KNOW you are not fertile yet (by your cp or cm) just ignore the monitor and don't test until you think you're getting close to O, this way you do not waste any unneccary sticks (those things are damn expensive) so to recap: the monitor will be fine for you, just note, depending on what cd you take your clomid I would not even start testing until like cd 10 and just know you may get about 5-10 high fert. days, this is normal, they might not be real accurate but normal. Just bd every other day even during your high fert. days. The monitor WILL give you very accurate peak fert. days (the one's that really matter) though, it will for sure pick up the LH surge and those days will be accurate. So don't worry! It will correctly pick up your peak days (LH surge days) just may give a lot of high days that might not be 100% corrrect. Keep testing from about cd 10 on until you get your peak fert. The clomid could delay your normal O or it will happen sooner than normal. Right now I am just waiting to see if I O this week, boy that would be great. Good luck and hth.
