DH and I have been TTC since February. I am 32 and would like to have my first child sometime soon. I purchased a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor on Ebay over the weekend and I expect it to arrive sometime soon. Wondering if anyone else is using a monitor and if so, what do you think of it? Any advice?

Hi there. I'm 38, so I understand the desire to "take control" of fertility issues.

We purchased a CBE Fert. Monitor last month, and I love it! DH wasn't overly thrilled with BDing every other day during the week for months on end(we both work full time jobs and are to stressed during the week). The Monitor lets us know when to have a BD fest, and we both like that aspect of it.

I knew we missed the eggie last month due to family funerals, but I have high hopes for this month.

If the monitor doesn't come with test strips, you will need to purchase some. They will have to be CBE kind in order to fit the monitor. You can start using it this month if you have not gone past cd5. If you have, you'll have to wait until next month. The booklet that comes with it will explain how everything works. The first month I used 22 strips as it was learning how my cycle works.

It will show you low dates, high dates (BD every other day) and two peak dates (we plan to BD for 3 days straight during that time) when you should ovulate in 24 - 36 hours.

I usually just lurk on this board, so if you have ?s or want to chat, come on over to the Trying to Conceive your First Child Board - I'm Dee or Iamstillworking.

Good luck!

Hi, I'm in the same boat as you. Just purchased the monitor on ebay, and I'm hoping it will be here before cd5. I'm really excited about using it, I'm hoping that I'll be able to relax more once I start using it!!!!

Good Luck, hopefully we can share tips about our new toy!

This is my first month using the monitor, and so far I really like it. Because it's the first month, it will ask you to use more test sticks than normal (until it gets used to your cycle). Be sure to buy the test sticks since most likely the monitor won't come with them. You may want to double check that just so you know.

I can't believe it, I forgot to set the M button this morning! I better remember tomorrow or the next day, or it will be too late for this cycle!!

You are absolutely right, we need our own section! We could be the Fertility Monitor Moms to Be!
