Finding out your Ovulation pattern

Hi everyone.

My cycle is about 31 days. The last few months since we've been trying the cycle ranges a few days (usually later). Anyone else have a similar cycle and could help me to figure out 1. when they think they ovulate, and 2. when I should use the OPK.

thanks.

I don't have a similar cycle, but I can make a few suggestions. First I would really suggest starting to chart your bbt. Many of us chart using www.fertilityfriend.com and there is a good description of just how to do it there. This will tell you after you ovulate and also help you keep track of everything in your cycle.

In addition to this I also use opk's. The package usually tells you what day to start them depending on how long your cycle is. Even if someone else has the same length cycle, they probably ovulate on a different day because people have all different length LP's. I'd start it on the cycle day the package suggests at first until you get a better idea of when yo ovulate.

Good luck!

I think the other post summed everything up perfectly, but I'll add that my cycles were 30-31 days and I always o'ed on cd 16 or 17. I also suggest charting and reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. (Sp??) I learned so much about my body from that book and it goes into detail about your cycles and charting.

Charting seems like a hassle at first, but it really is easy. I had a really hard time stopping even after I got pg!

Good luck to you!

Yes, you spelled it right!

Forgot to say that there is a link to Amazon about this book at the top of the page. It has more detail about what it is all about.

This is my 1st full cycle off BCPs, so I have no idea how long it will be. I o'd on cd19. Seems kinda late in the cycle to me, but may be that means I will have long cycles. We shall see. Anyway I knew I o'd by charting my BBT, but mostly because I had pretty bad 'o' pains, kinda like PMS & cramps.
