I just had an U/S and the nurse stated that I had 2 follocles (measuring 18.5 and 15) on my left side and 1 on the right (17.5). What does that mean? This is my first Clomid (100mg) cycle with monitoring and am not sure if only 3 follicles is good or not.

Thanks and good luck to you all!

Hi there.

I am curious about your U/S..if this is your first cycle using clomid at 100mg how did you know when to go in for the U/S if you didn't know when you Oed yet on the clomid? I am in that situation, I just finished my 1st round of 100mg of clomid too! My doc said I'll get an U/S next month so we can see this month when I'll O. Now what day did you O this cycle, if you Oed yet? I am on cd 14 and I use the fert. monitor and so far, I've had like 6 high fert. days but not peak yet. Without the clomid I usually don't O until cd 20, I have a long cycle each month about 34 days usually. My doc "thought" that the clomid might make me O on more of a "normal" text book cd of 14 but so far my body is just not going to that...at least this month. I have heard with all the girls on clomid (from the clomid board) that the average O date seems to be about cd 18-20 for some reason no matter what your cycle was before the clomid. So, that is why I am so curious on what day you knew to go in for the U/S and have you Oed yet or did you pick a random day being mid-cycle and hoped you hadn't Oed yet to see your follicles? Also, are you going to get the 7dpo progesterone blood test? I am for sure to see if I did O and to see what my levels were at. If you can post back to me that would be great, I'd love to know your O date, if you have one and what days you took the clomid (mine was suppose to be cd 5-9 but I took it at night (late) on cd 4-8. Were your temps high on the clomid (if you temp)? Mine were not that high at all from everyone said they would be. Do you use Fertility Friend? If so, do you mind posting your chart? I'd love to take a look. Here's mine: http://circles2.fertilityfriend.com/home/2e7e9

Thanks in advance.

My story goes like this:

We have been TTC #1 for about 13 months. Have done temping, OPKs, Fertility Monitor, CM tracking. Nothing was working. We (mainly I as DH is pretty patient) got really frustrated and decided to see a specialist. Our specialist thought that we were too early (like 13 months is not enough!!!) to go through any treatments - Based on tests, I am OK, we just have a minor male factor. He felt like we only needed a little bit of help to get the job done. So he finally decided to get us on Clomid and IUI. In our first cycle we did 50mg and IUI, but did not work (I think I O'ed on cd16). This cycle, our second one, we did 100mg on cd 3-7. On cd12 I called the nurse to figure out why we were not doing any monitoring (u/s and b/w). She said that it was because our specialist thought that we only needed a little "bump". But she was nice enough to ask me to come in to get an u/s and b/w. So I did today (cd13). I have 3 follies (15, 17.5 and 18.5), but no LH surge yet. The nurse wants me to continue testing with OPK and will go in tomorrow (cd14) for b/w (no u/s) to check on the LH surge. Based on how I feel today (O pains, CM, etc), I think I will be O'ing tomorrow (cd14) and will get the IUI Friday (cd 15).

I really hope this works. We are really excited!
