Gender Prediction...

Okay, I've studied some on this topic of choosing your baby's gender & seems plausible. I'm sure most of you have heard of it, I just want to know if anyone has tried it previously:

In order to have a girl, BD several days before O & for a boy, BD closer to O

Reason is because the xx (female) sperm swim slower but live longer.

xy (male) sperm swim faster but also die sooner.

So, if you BD early & avoid intercourse during your most fertile periods, you will have mostly xx left, which will be the one's who fertilize the egg.

Any thoughts on this?

Hi! Just want to let you all know that YES this method does work!!! I had 2 boys and desparately wanted a girl so I read up about this method and gave it a shot. It makes total sense when you think about it. It's not something fake like hanging a string over your belly to see which way it spins. This is scientific stuff!! Good Luck!! And yes, I did get my girl!!

PS. What does BD stand for? I know what you're refering to but can't put those letters to anything! Thanks!

Hi Ladies

Yes I have heard that the females living longer and swim slow and the males swim fast but die faster. Also heard that your Hubby or whoever should be as close as he can inside when he ejaulates. If you want a boy, that is...

BD means Baby dancing I believe. Sorty new here.

Best wished to all,

Hi,

I agree that this seems plausible. I've read Shettles' book and tho I did not apply his principles when TTC my first two (both girls) the timing of BD in our case supports the theory. We are trying now for a boy and so are limiting BD to just the day of ovulation. I have also read that pH of the woman's 'environment' has a role in gender determination as well so I don't think timing of BD is always enough. Shettles says if a woman is more acidic it will favor a girl and more alkaline will favor a boy. Anyways, for us it is just for fun and we really want 3 kids so we will definitely not be disappointed if we have a girl. GL and HTH!

Jenessa, sorry to hear your $25 went downt he drain ;) Are you still trying for a girl this time... or just TRYING and hoping for a girl?

Regarding the comment on the man being as close as possible for ejaculation; No wonder why guys can be so lazy... They are spoiled even before conception!!! LOL The girls, of course, are the strong, determined ones =o)

Lori, thanks for the extra info on Shettle's book. I'll have to get that one so i can be more acidic this time =)

Hi Nyssa,

This time I'm convinced I'm going to have a boy. I'm okay with that, picked out a boys name and all, but a girl would be a nice surprise!!

heehee, for the longest time i thought BD was bed-down, not baby dance! haha!! just thought i'd share my stupididy with you all!

and it seems pretty possible, though i KNOW when i ovulated, when i got pg with DD (9months old now) and well, we happened to BD 3x on that day, so there may be a flaw in the theory- well, anyway, it's possible for it not to work exactly like planned.

just my 2 cents!
