(pg ment)

Everyone is different. Every pill is different. Some people get pg their very first cycle of trying after coming off of the pill and for others, it can take many months. The rule of thumb is that it takes 3 cycles for your body to get back to "normal".

Also be aware that some Dr's tell you to wait at least 2-3 cycles before TTC after going off of the pill. My Dr told me it was ok to TTC immediately.

Personally, I got pg on cycle 3. My first cycle looked weird and annovulary. I did chart and temp. My second cycle looked more normal. And the third was the charm!!!

GL to you!

HA HA HA...Slow down Amanda!!! It could take one month to one year (or longer) to get pregnant. As for the pill getting out of you system, that could take a few months. I just went off the pill on June 25th and wow, let me tell you I have been a basket case, ask any of the ladies that have read any of my messages. I'm back and forth, up and down. Some women adjust fine and other have a difficult time. Either way, I hope you are very lucky and are able to get pg the first time around. Don't get your hopes up but keep your spirits high!!!

Kelly and me both. I went off bcp in March, and since then these nice ladies have seen me all over the place freaking out! I finally feel like I am settling down - praise the Lord. (He IS good.)

Women do get pregnant on, and immediately after the pill (bcp). This is cycle 4 (C4) for me and I have had just about every pg symptom I have read about, all of which I now believe were due to hormonal changes having just stopped taking bcp. For example, soresoresore nipples, fatigue, bloating, indigestion, hunger, no hunger, salivating, cramping, spotting around 10 dpo, etc. My cycles have been 36, 29, 33, and 21 days and durations of 2 (after last cycle of bcp), 3, 10, 8, and 4 days! That 21 day cycle just about did me in - I thought it was implantation bleeding at first (by the way, IB occurs in 1/3 of women according to some website) then realized IB was the exception and not the norm.

Be patient, have fun, enjoy your husband, be healthy, exercise, and stay busy. Think of all the fun things you can do now that you might not want to do while pregnant or with a family!

I have been off the Pill for 4 months and my cycles are crazy! My GYN said to do ovulation predictor kits to keep track of my cycle.

Take a deap breath sweetie!!!

I'm in the same boat as the ladies who have been off BCP for four months...well, 4 cycles, I should say, since everyone's cycle can vary so much! As Amy said, I too had EVERY pg symptom possible the first could of months off BCP. I'm sure most had to do with hormonal changes and some was probably mental...LOL!!! For me, my cycles have been 39, 38, and 34 days. AF started out VERY short and seems to be wanting to get back to normal now.

I would highly recommend temping and charting, if you're not already doing that. Looking back I see we messed up our timing the first couple of months, but now that I'm charting and using OPKs it's much easier to nail down that little O fairy!

I know everyone probably says this, but it really is important to make this an enjoyable event in your lives...try to enjoy it and not rush it too much...it will happen :)

Cheers!

I went off the pill in May of this year. My DH and I have been actively trying since then. My first cycle was way strange. I really thought I was pg. I went from a normal 28 day cycle to a 37 day cycle. I was super hungry, super tired, and super cranky. My nipples tingled and hurt. I felt full. It was very strange. Then I had the worst period ever. I had major cramps. Ugh! My second cycle was better. It was 32 days long. My cramps are worse than on the pill but not as bad as my first cycle. I'm hoping that this third cycle settles down and I'll be able to get pg!!!

Good luck to you!
