had my clomid monitoring today....

I had my Clomid monitoring done, 1st time on friday and my folical was only 10x12 so they told me to come back on monday. Well I did and my Folical was only 11x13 today so he says I won't be ovulating this cycle. I left his office and sat in my car and cried for about 30 minutes. So I'm kinda depressed now. This month is a bust so I keep getting that feeling like I'm doing something wrong.

I have a question, today my dr. said that I have about a dozen poly cysts in each ovary. Does that mean I have PCOS? he said back in April when I started seeing him that is was a possibility. But today when he mentioned it my mind wasn't in the room with me, I just kept repeating to myself the fact that I wasn't ovulating. So I really wasn't paying attention to him any more. I'm just lost and confused.

any help would be greatly welcomed.

thanks in advance.

(((hugs)))

Sorry to hear about this bust of a cycle. Hopefully next cycle will go better!

Diagnosing PCOS is very tough and confusing. Some women have polycystic ovaries, but do not have PCOS. Some women have PCOS, but don't have the tell-tale "string of cysts" (though this is more rare). Just because your doctor said this, doesn't mean you necessarily have PCOS.

That said, your best chance at getting a thorough and accurate diagnosis might be to consult a reproductive endocrinologist; if your doctor is familiar with PCOS he should be running some more tests for you. I did some sleuthing on some iVillage's PCOS boards when I was wondering what was up with myself, and here are some of the blood tests you should ask for:

- LH/FSH ratio

- total testoserone

- DHEAS

- SHBG

- Androstenedione and/or other androgens

- Prolactin

- TSH

- Cholesterol / fasting lipid panel

- 2-hour glucose tolerance test

Good luck to you!
