Hard Time Eating Right?

Does anyone have trouble eating right just for them? When I was pregnant with my son I ate better then I have my whole life and I'm sure when I get PG again I'll do the same thing. Why is it so hard too take care of yourself for you. I want too get in better shape and start eating better now so It'll be easier when there s a bun in my oven. Anyone else a problem with this and how do you work on it?

I am 12 weeks pg now. I find it easy to eat really healthy at meal times, but since it's almost Halloween, I find myself eating really healthy at meals, but then will eat candy. At least I didn't buy candy bars for the trick or treaters. (which so far, I'm the only trick or treater) I bought Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Roll Pops. So it's not the worst it could be. But I still feel silly, when I make a baked chicken breast and have my daily dose of veggies, but then I go eat 6 Tootsie Rolls.
Seems kind of the opposite of what I should do.
But, I think you should also treat yourself once in a while.
I recently bought a can of the real whipped cream (not nasty cool whip) Not that the real stuff in a can is all that high class.
But I digress. My point is,
HI jenny!! i definitely eat better when i am PG, but in general, i have a pretty healthy diet - we eat all natural food and have a huge list of foods that we avoid. - hydrogenated oils, benzoate, MSG, nitrites, those are just the basic ones. really i just do whole foods cooking, all natual, and then we are pretty safe, LOL.
BUt that doesnt mean that i eat a perfect diet - bread and hotdogs can be all natural, but i still need to eat green veggies, kwim??
my mom was like this too, and she had a rule - eat a green leafy orange every day. meaning a green veg, a leafy veg, and an orange veg. so i tell my kids and i try to follow this as well - eat sosmething of every color.
i will notice that i havent eaten enough veggies or whole grains sometimes, and i will ignore the desire to eat XXX (some other food ) and grab a raw broccoli florette instead.
an excellent tip is to wash and cut up the stuff and have it in a zip bag in the fridge, so you can grab it quickly and just chow. That is what i do!! and i seaparated my yogurt ( i make a vat of it evey week or two) into single servings, so it is easier for me to eat.

Thats excellent advice especially about eating some of every color that way you get all your vitamins and such and also about cutting up your food so you can grab and go. I'm lazy lol. I'm so so so so happy for you! I'm fertile this next week and looking too o the 31st or 1st of next month. So I'm excited about that. How are you feeling? Any symptoms really kicking in ?

I know what you mean, we're TTC our 1st...I'm moving onto cycle #5 and keep intending on eating healthy and exercising but haven't been motivated.
BFP 11/21 after 5 cycles TTC!!!!
