have a Temping question

I just got a basal therm. tonight, and had a question about using it... I work nights and go to bed late. I usually wake around 10-11am... I know you're supposed to take it right when you wake up, however, sometimes it gets really hot in our bedroom in the mornings, and I find myself throwing the covers off when I wake because I'm so hot... Wouldn't this affect my temps???

Thanks ladies..

GM Cathy! I know the basal body temperature is your bodies temperature "at rest"- and if you're room is hot and you're kicking your covers off in your sleep your body is adjusting itself accordingly. I think it may affect your temperatures just slightly, but not enough for you to worry about. GL, may your BBT bring you that BFP here really soon!!!!!!!!!! ((((((((hugs))))))))))) LOLove, Connie

I think it can affect your temps actually. You are not even supposed to talk before you take your temp when you wake up. Not sure how much it will affect it though. It may not be a huge difference. HTH.

I do the same thing! I think that as long as you are using the BBT to aid in getting PG, then it will not make a significant difference. I personally don't think you need to be 100% accurate, you just need to be able to see a pattern.

I hope this helps!

I don't think it can affect it much...for example, last night was really hot, and I actually had a lower temp than normal. Also keep in mind that if that happens all the time, then all of your temps will be affected in the same way. And having a/c doesn't seem to affect it either, amazingly enough.

Cathy,

I don’t think it affects things all that much. The important thing is to take your temp at about the same time each day. What I’m looking for in my temp charts is lows that are before O, and then highs that follow O. It is a great tool in figuring when you O and how long your 2ww lasts. Good luck to you!
