If you don't know how long your cycle is, I think I would start testing before CD11. I know in the past I have gotten a positive OPK as early CD10, my cycles have ranged from 25-36 days. It couldn't hurt to start testing on CD7 since you are just starting to figure out your cycle.
Welcome mrs_kevin. This was my first month using OPKs so I just wanted to share some of the knowledge I have gleened from others on these TTC boards. If you are going to start testing early in the cycle (CD7 or 8) you might want to pick up an extra pack or buy the 20-count pack since it is also just as likely for you to O late as it would be to O early. Also, avoid first morning urine for the OPKs, because they measure leutenizing hormone which takes a while to build up in the system and picks up best between 12pm-8pm. Some of the girls on here suggest testing twice a day eight hours apart so that you do not miss your LH surge. Anyways, just wanted to share, and good luck!
They have them at Meijers (if you have one close to you) as 20 test strips that can be dipped into the urine. My guess is that drug stores might carry them, but if you are looking for a good number of strips to map out a few cycles your best bet might be online- you can find them much cheaper if you order a higher number. HTH!
