Hello,

I'm new here. For the past twenty months, I've been keeping my struggles to get PG from friends and relatives, and felt really lonely til I saw this message board.

I'm on my fifth course of clomid. Heard that taking clomid continuously for six cycles will increase the risk of ovarian cancer. Really worried, but my cycle is really irregular (28-42 days), what other methods can I try?

Can I use digital thermometer to take BBT?

Thanx

Welcome to the board. Yes, it's a great place to get support without the pressure of friends and family knowing you're TTC. I just started charting this month and got a digital Basal thermometer. I'm not sure what the difference is between a basal and a regular thermometer. I got mine at Walgreens for $9.99 and it works just fine.

Good luck TTC. I hope this is your month!

Welcome to the group! Yes, you can use a regular digital thermometer to take your temp, but a basal digital thermometer is supposed to be a little more accurate. Just be sure whatever thermometer you use, you continue with through the entire cycle. Changing thermometers mid-cycle can skew your chart.

Good luck, and I hope your stay here is short and sweet.

Thanx for the reply. I'm new to the board. Can you explain TTC#1, C8, 4dpo?

My guess is TTC for first child. What is C8?

TTC #1 is trying to concieve 1st child, C8 means 8th cycle or month of TTC, DPO means days past ovulation. There is a page at the top for abriviations and accronyms. Good Luck (GL) to ya and I hope you get your BFP (big fat positive pregnancy test) soon!
