Hello,

I have a question. I am new to charting and I thought I had O'd on 10/17 (positive OPK and ferning on microscope)then I had three days of good temps, but Fertility Friend doesn't think I O'd, I still don't have coverline. I really appreciate any info.

TIA

Ginny, I am NO pro at this as I am new too. It looks to me though that you O on CD 17 or 18... I bet you one more day of a higher temp, FF will give you a coverline. Thats what they did to me! GL and keep us posted!

Hi Ginny,

I am also no expert on the charting but I actually don't think you O'd yet, or maybe you did yesterday on day 19. The + OPK means you will ovulate in the near future (they say 24-48 hours) it doesn't mean that you o'ed that day, so I actually think it's possible (probable) that tomorrow or the day after you'll see a rise in your temp and then you will realize that you ovulated on day 18 or 19. I also don't completely trust the OPKs because I got + one literally 6 days before I O'd last time. The OPKs detect a surge in a certain hormone, but you can have 'mini surges' before the big surge before O so they are not always completely reliable. I am pretty sure FF won't give you a coverline til your temps are high for 3 days in a row, so you won't see one for a few days. Not sure if you have the FF VIP membership but if you do I would def send click 'ask our experts' or whatever that key says and get their opinion as well.

I don't know exactly what rules FF uses, but when you draw a coverline using FAM rules, the high temp needs to be at least .2 higher than the previous temps and you draw the cover at .1 above the highest previous 6 temps before the rise. You need 3 high temps over your cover to confirm O. On your chart, you'll see that you haven't had 3 consecutive high temps over the previous 6. Based on the info you have given and your chart, it looks like you probably ovulated early in the day on CD18 and you are having a slow rise. Your temps need to rise some more, though, for confirmation. It is possible that you are one of the few women with which temps are not an accurate measure of O, but it is too early to know for sure yet.
