Help - could this be implantation bleed

Hi - Please help!

I am now 12 DPO. On day 10dpo and 11 dpo I had verly light spoting (I thought it was AF coming early, so of course I got utterly depressed and drank a glass of wine and cried to my DH). However, it stopped, so I am thinking it was implantation bleeding (hopeful wishing). But isn't it too late to have implantation bleeding? I read somewhere that implantation happens 3-5 days dpo. I don't know what to think. I am waiting until Aug 21 to test...

From all the books and studies I've read on the subject.. Implantation can happen anywhere

from 4dpo to 12dpo. On few occasions, implantation has been noted as late as 15dpo

(however, the ones that implanted that late either said that m/c resulted.. or didn't

say anything about the outcome).

Hope this info helps.

Thanks. That helps, although I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens in the next few days! It is hard being on this roller-coaster of emotions.

the exact same thing happened to me! on 9 or 10dpo (i don't know for sure because i wasn't charting) i started spotting, a tiny amount of weird brown blood, like a dime or so size a day. i live on the east coast and this started the night of the blackout! i thought that the stress and strangeness of the whole event got my period going early. but then two and half days later everything completely stopped! not a drop of brown or pink or anything! i was so depressed when it first started. just like you, i cried and cried on my dh's shoulder (who thought i was completely nuts!!) and decided to have lots of white wine and eat tons of bad food- cheese, ice cream, guacamole, any fatty item i could get my hands on- over the weekend. i even started counting forward to see what days might be fertile for the next month of trying.

now i don't know what to think or what to do. i tested twice and both were negative. not even the slightest second line. and trust me, i was really looking! i've never had a period like this before. i've always, always had bright red heavy bleeding for at least two or three days. i don't think i have any other pregnancy symptoms. bbs feel a bit bigger and heavier. mildly tender. but i had a chemical pregnancy last month when bbs were out of control tender. i don't know if each pregnancy is different or what.

so what are you going to do? when will you test? have you ever had an af like this before? can we even call it an af? if we're not pregnant, why would we spot like that and then have it stop? are there any other explanations? i thought about calling my ob/gyn, but i wasn't sure what i would say! "on the night of the blackout, i starting spotting for two days and now i want to know if i'm pregnant"?? i'm sure she would say, "just wait and test later" which is the last thing i want to hear because i can't seem to wait a moment longer. i just want to know now!

best of luck to you. let's keep in touch....

I have read that implantation bleeding occurs anywhere from 7 to 12 dpo but here is a little text that i copied and pasted from my site where i have my ovulation calender called conceptionstore.com here goes.....

Implantation into the Uterus

Approximately 8 days after ovulation, if pregnant, the blastocyst (as the baby is classified at this stage) begins to secrete a hormone that enables it to burrow into the lining of the uterus. Implantation usually happens in the upper one-third of the uterus and placenta will then begin to form.

Implantation Spotting

If you experience light bleeding or spotting at or around your predicted Implantation Day or when you would normally expect your period, this could be Implantation Spotting. This often occurs as the egg burrows into the endometrial lining, and is a normal occurence.

Well, thanks for all the info gals!

I think I will go ahead and test on Friday (hopefully I can wait that long). The spotting is very little, so I am hoping it is implantation. If that the Friday test is BFN, then I guess I will test Saturday too unless AF rears her ugly head. THat should be 13/14 DPO and around when I should usually get my AF.

Good luck to us all!!! ; )
