Sept. of 2007 had an HSG and the doctor found a polyp just inside my cerix. Enough of a problem that the dr had a hard time inserting the dye tube. Eventually got it in. Had the polyp removed in Dec. My dr said that it could have been blocking sperm from entering as well as blocking implantation. Said it would've worked like an IUD preventing pregnancy. No BFP yet but 2 suspected chemical pgs. And that's more than I'd had in the 7 years of ttc. Hope this helps.
I have 5 uterine polyups removed about a year and a half ago. They were causing irregular bleeding. The doctor said that the surgery (which is a D&C) would not impact TTC at all. They also told me the polyups would not impeded TTC either. I have found that doctors look at uterine polyups as more a nuisance to the woman and aren't really concerned about removing them.
I have to complain about irregular bleeding for 2 months before I finally convinced them to do the surgery.
I also had a cyst last year and it ended up going aways on its own in a month. I wouldn't worry about the polyups and TTC, I don't think it will cause any problems, at least that is what I was told.
